I think you’re very off by rating Mount higher than Fernandes..

Bruno speed of thought it superb. What a weird shout to say he doesn’t have it

Signing Eze to replace Fernandes is absurd. You're paying English tax for a far inferior player who isn't premier league proven because of the number of chances he wastes.

Coming from a Sporting fan, if you don't see Shaw as an option for central defender on the left side, you haven't understood how Ruben Amorim sets his defence line. Bruno Fernandes role will be as a central midfielder along side Casemiro/Ugarte. Congrats ManU, you're getting a top top manager! 🎉

It is so wild that you put Zalewski there. I was scouting for the left wing back for us as well, and came to Zalewski as an outside shout and a great fit as well.

I don't think Bruno will go anywhere, I certainly wouldn't risk selling him to replace him with our track record of signings.

I think he's looking forward to working with Amorim and he's determined and intelligent enough to fit into the system and even go to a higher level

Some other options for the positions James has picked:

LWB:
Alphonso Davies - contract expiring in the summer and has already been linked to us.

Harry Amass (academy) - was rotated into the squad in pre season and occasionally on the bench this season. Technically great, especially in tight spaces and remember him overlapping well but questions over his physicality to play in a back 4 at the moment, less responsibility as a wingback.

Alvaro Fernandez - apparently doing well for Benfica so far, has played in a back 4 and back 5. Cheap buyback clause.

CB: Disagree with James here, no point in paying £50-60m on a player if we're not willing to give him playing time. Instead I'd go for the left side.

Jarrad Branthwaite - linked with him heavily already, would be expensive but probably worth it in the long term.

Godwill Kukonki (academy) - come through the ranks this year. 6'4, quick, plays either LB or LCB anyway.

AM:
Don't have a pick from the market but Shea Lacey from the academy is by many accounts the most exciting academy player in years. Plays a similar position to Amad (10/RW hybrid role) so would have to figure that out but very talented. Jack Fletcher (Darren's son) is a shout too.

CM:
Jayce Fitzgerald really impressing in the academy.

CF:
Chido Obi-Martin signed and offered a 3rd choice striker role apparently. Far too good for academy football and only a matter of time before he breaks through.

Eze not the right choice for me. Bruno will be needing to move on eventually, but arguably we have crazy talents in the academy coming up in that position and also there are better players in Europe. (I get the Eze bias though)

Feel like Kudus would be an amazing signing as well on that right side

Garnacho will be converted to a wing back. He suits the profile perfectly. He largely doesn't have to change much of what he currently does to play that role for Amorim.

Anyone who thinks Fernandes needs to be sold cannot be trusted giving opinions on football as they clearly dont know anything.

He is by far, the greatest CAM individually in the entire league and has better stats than any other CAM on this planet

Although I enjoy what you’re saying.. the new manager will have to get the best out of what he’s already got. Due to ffp he won’t have the spending power over the next 12-18 months unless Miraculously they sell the likes of Maguire and Antony for good money. I see Garnacho occupying the LWB role, he gets up and down the pitch as well as anyone. The one who I’d love to come to Old Trafford is Eze, again it’s going to take a lot of money to prize him away from Selhurst park.

Hear me out - Alphonso Davies on a free - Left footed and he was a winger most of his career - Has always wanted to be more involved in the attack for Bayern but they won't give him the chance. Out of contract 2025 and only 24 and already been linked to us. One of the fastest players in the World.

To fit in with FFP rules United probably won't be able to spend more than £100m on players this summer. Chelsea signing Sancho for £25m probably gives United a bit more leeway and they probably will move on from Casemiro, Malacia and Bayindir so they could develop more breathing room, so lets say £130m.

Here are 4 Signings I think Ruben Amorim should make.
RWB: Jeremie Frimpong: £40m - Lightning quick on the Right wing, great crosser, would add something new to the United attack.
LWB: Alvaro Fernandez - £15m - Perfect modern day wing back who can attack and defend in equal measure. Great footwork.
LCB: Gonçalo Inácio - £50m - The only Sporting signing. Ideal LCB for Amorim. Martinez can split his time between LCB and defensive midfielder.
CM(8): Angel Gomes: Free Transfer in summer - Ideal back up for Kobbie Mainoo and can cover LCAM and RCAM. perfect signing.

I think these players profile wise are great fits, I just don’t know if they’re at the calibre needed to improve the squad enough to compete properly

Dalot will definitely be one of those wing back positions. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up as captain/vice under Amorim.

Great vid Jim, however I would look for an older LWB las Harry Amass would be perfect for this role coming through the academy and looked great in preseason
For CB we also have Godwill Kokoni coming through at 6ft 4 and good on the ball he’s one to look out for him and Yoro could be brilliant together ina few years.
La Carrington has some serious talent coming though probably the best set of youngsters coming though for a long time

Keep in mind that players can learn new systems, I don't think it's hard for Bruno to become an Amorim type of CAM. Also, just the thought of replacing Garnacho, Yoro and Mainoo, basically our most promising players, is more than unrealistic.

Can’t wait to get some structure back in the club so we can compete welcome Amorim 🎉

On the left back issue, the last time Luke Shaw played for United was 10 months ago. The last his back up, Tyrell Malacia played for United was 19 months ago.
