Just a heads up that we normally layer materials like you would in real life, ie. your bottom layer would be the metal material and you'd add a material on top of that to act as paint, just as you would in real life. This because the effect on height and normals on the top layer will take what is under it, leave it as is and show up a bit "lifted" or as a relief, and it adds to the realism of the end product. So you'd wanna use the mask generator on the paint not the metal, and you'd probably also add a grunge to act as a secondary level of detail to the worn paint.

Substance is really awesome for photo realism, but I also love what stylized community does with it. Stylized PBR is trending now days. On my channel I mostly use Photoshop for textures. 😃

Yeah, the curvature weight essentially is a multiplier (from 0-1 I believe) against the previously generated curvature map. The curvature map essentially calculates the slope at each point across the entire surface (I don't know the specifics of the algorithm, but yeah it's basically how pointy/sharp it is). Love the content! About to get back into Substance Painter and I love your short and to the point clips :) Most documentation should strive to be this clear and concise.

Why do some generators not work? Like I'll choose the other edge-wear, Dirt Soft Edges, but it doesn't work. Metal Edge Wear works but the others don't. Is there something different about those?

Why isnt it working for me i did everything correctly instead its just covering the edge wear all over the model not just on the edges

And remember kids, those generators only work AFTER you bake your mesh maps!
Nice video as aways bro. Peace

For some reason when i add the generator it doesnt add it to the edges it just adds it all over??

since you already show Generators Tutorial, you should do anchor point next, since Generators and Anchor points, is the two thing you don't want to miss out when using substance painter
