Learn About the Pharmacy Residency Program Offered at Baptist Health

Baptist Health South Florida offers a great training ground for Pharmacy Residents. Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist health, offers a unique opportunity for Pharmacists and Residents to position themselves at the forefront of expanding clinical pharmacy services.

[Director, Pharmacy, Miami Cancer Institute] The Oncology Residency Program or PGY2 Residency Program in Oncology Pharmacy is primarily focused on the in patient care. And one of the benefits of now being part of the Miami Cancer Institute, the resident will have opportunity to have even more training in the ambulatory aspects of cancer care and treatment.

Here at the Miami Cancer Institute, we have a great training ground for pharmacists and for our residents. And so we've decided to maximize the number
of residency positions that we've offered.

One of the things that's unique about the residency program here is that we're still in the growth and development stages of our cancer program. So our resident will have the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of developing, for example, our allogeneic stem cell transplant program or our expansion of our clinical trials office to now expand into phase I clinical trials.

We're developing clinical pharmacy services, starting new oncolytic clinics. So, the pharmacy resident will now have this opportunity to be at the forefront of developing the standard practices that we'll have for years to come.
