Sclerotherapy procedure for spider veins.

Dr. Maggie Arnold, director of the MedStar Health Vein Centers- Baltimore region demonstrates the sclerotherapy procedures on a patient with spider veins. During the video, she describes the in-office procedure —including injecting a chemical solution into the veins, and as the solution is injected, the spider veins begin to disappear. This process is repeated throughout the spider veins on the leg. Once the injections are completed, the area is covered and wrapped to protect against any bruising. There are no restrictions of daily activities after the procedure.

I had it done about 5 or 6 years ago. Every single injection felt like a bee sting, but a second or two later the pain was gone. I’m glad I had it done. Some veins disappeared and others are much lighter. I have some new spider veins since.

No restrictions after procedure? Thought you weren’t supposed to take hot showers, baths, or get in hot tubs, . You’re supposed to stay out of the sun for weeks.

I'm currently under treatment for spider veins. Very painful!!! And the bruising are for 2-3weeks. Also a compression stockings are required post tx for 2days

I´ve done this, well I don´t know what exactly was injected back then but I did this a quiet while but the veins didn´t disappear and some came back right again. If anyone knows an effective way please write back on here.
