DIY Sprinter Van Bed Build | Removable 3-Panel Loft Bed Fits a Queen-size Mattress

Показать описание
My last Sprinter van bed was a twin. It served me well, but was a bit small for two people. My new van build sports a queen-sized, three-panel loft bed, which can comfortably sleep two people on top and leaves enough room on bottom to house a couple more guest campers. Check out this video to see the build.

Looks like a very practical upgrade! Love how everything you do to the van still allows for the interior to be quickly converted back to 'hauling' mode.

It looked pro already but that blue powder coating makes it look factory. Nice job!

Awesome! Thanks very much for sharing this approach. I have a 2017 Sprinter crew van, and your videos are helping me sort out some options.

I was literally telling my husband about your van today and wondering how you two slept on that little bed! It turned out great! Your videos are awesome! So much good info!

Hi, nice build. One thing, and I think is very overlooked in vanbuilds is safety. Even in a minor front accident the bolts would shear and if someone is sitting in the back, it takes their heads off. I would end the side rails in an L shape or something similar.

Hi Sergei, I was wondering why you used steel rather than aluminium? Really nice design with 45 degree corners and rounded edges as well as the slanted rear panel, well done. I am going to reach out to Jason about the frame. Thanks oh and i have been scouting and eating many wild plants in my area on Vancouver Island BC

Here we go 👍 Steel is the right stuff for van builds. I don't know why so many use wood.

Good to know there's a place to get powder coating in Tacoma. Those plus nuts look like mollies that are used for dry wall. Appreciate the details.

I like the design of the bed looks great in blue. Is the welder local in the Tacoma area as well I am interested in getting his information?

very nice job on your bed, i have a question, how thick is your plywood and how did you attach it to the metal i did not see any fasteners top or bottom?

Does Jason still do stuff like this? I was unable to find his company just now. Thanks!

why use steel, yes its less expensive however yu are going to powder coat it which brings up the cost, also steel is heavy, almost all th builds I have seen have used aluminium, more original cost however much less time involved in putting t together considering th e powder coating? just curious
