Well in my opinion Hollywood is the last ones who need the Sora. So it means giving a tool to a few big giant companies with huge budgets to make even more money.
It needed to be the opposite to give it to independent artists and studios so they could make the projects which they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford.

I'm hoping us proles _(hoi poloi, _ normies, non-show-biz types) get access to this. I've been struggling as a hobbyist filmmaker forever, primarily because making films so very, very expensive and - unfortunately - I have ideas that involve more than my own garage as a location or me and a couple of friends as actors. I don't get to make one very often or at the level of quality I'd like. Access to something like this would be a godsend.

I think maybe everyone is missing the boat here, who cares about video. sora can generate rotational video good enough to generate depth maps from. sora already figured out 3d, and is showing it to us in 2d form. sora can create training data for 3d model creation.

for it to be really useful, it will need to be able to replicate a character (or other object), to perfection. If I can use the same character, with the same car, in multiple videos, then it's going to be absolutely amazing.

Midjourney is already doing images consistent, so I feel this is something all of them will be prioritzing as well.

12:41 - I think Sora is already 1080p, their site shows these new videos of these artists in 1080p if im not mistaken and it already looks crystal clear and super sharp and amazing, it just looks totally real (like the kangaroo/Lizard shot)

It's, simutaneously, both amazing and terrifing. I am a vfx artist and I can tell how hard and time consuming is my job but I love what I do and I want to keep on to it. If Sora... I don't know. Sam Altman has written some things about the loss of jobs but without the loss of income more or less. But art is what separates humans from animals otherwise we are no different. Art from AI is art? Maybe it's something else, maybe a new term must be invented.
