I would say that "Give me a break" can be used to mean leave me alone, but it doesn't mean that specifically. Give me a break usually said out of frustration when you find the other person being tidious, or nagging or that their statements are ridiculous, as if they are trying to sell you on something that you know isn't true and/or selling you something you aren't interested in. Like if my husband was telling me about a new project he has planned and he thinks that he can do it in a weekend, I might say "Give me a break! Has a project of this size ever gone that well? It will take a week at least!" But consider this situation: I am talking to someone, maybe it started out as a nice conversation but they have increasingly gotten too heated, or making ridiculous claims, I may try to disengage from the conversation with "Give me a break!" but that doesn't necesarrily mean I don't want this person near me, but that I am just not wanting to continue that conversation. If I were to say "Give me a break" and walk away, and that person try to follow me/keep talking, at that point, I would need to explicity state "I'm over this/I'm done with this, leave me alone."

sleep on it usually means that they are more likely to say no, so if someone says "I'll sleep on it" its a more hidden way to say no, this is mostly said to kids in hopes that they'll forget about what they asked for so the parent doesn't have to say no
