"Stealth Wealth" - BRILLIANT!

I finally have a term for my father's good habit. He hid his wealth very well and nobody could've guessed how rich he was. He made a lot of money in the oil business but still drove a 20 year old Corolla. I picked up on a few of these habits and still wear 5-10 year old clothes even though I can afford to spend more on nicer trim. But people have to realize that rich people don't become rich by spending money on frivolous things. My father always said - "Pick your luxuries, and cheap out on the rest".

When I was younger, I used to like to talk about how well I was doing in the stock market. That was always met with “oh, since you’ve done so well, you can buy us dinner”. Now I don’t say a word. Stealth wealth.

Excellent content, very honest video. As a European, it is refreshing to finally see an American vlogger who is talking in a normal manner, not overexaggerating anything or without being irritably enthusiastic and optimistic with a fake smile on. Keep up the good work :)

I retired at age 58 for the sole reason of your number 10. I wasn't rich but I had enough to live comfortably and figured why live under all this stress, (I owned an insurance agency), when I could wake up and go to the golf course instead of work. That was 13 years ago and I am very happy.

I’m not rich but I think about some of these things. I’m worried about a significant other one day taking it all and not actually ever caring about me. I’m also worried about my kids fighting over what I may have one day. And if they’re a bunch of little brats. It’s hard to teach someone the mindset if they will grow up with everything they need.
I’m only 23 but growing up with a few hardships has taught me a lot

This is one of the best financial channels I’ve ever seen. Everything, straight to the point, super eloquent, articulate, clear, concise, absolutely incredible. Thank you.

#11. What are you going to do with all that money now that you've "made it"? Are you going to continue to squirrel it all away and let your heirs fight over it when you pass? Retire and be self indulgent? Give back a little to the people and passions that you enjoyed in your struggle to achieve financial independence? It's a nice problem to have. Just some food for thought.
As for people suing you because they know you're wealthy, I would advise a million dollar Umbrella liability policy. Even your "best" friend may sue you he gets hurt on your property or can otherwise blame something on you.
Love the videos!

I think the "was it worth it??" question applies equally to rich and poor people. If you're a good person and people miss you after you're gone then it's worth it regardless of how wealthy you are.

Some really good points there. Most so called friends are really acquaintances and nothing more.As they say if you manage to have 5 good friends during your lifetime you are doing well.Stealth wealth is the way to go these days as too many people are just waiting for a chance to bring you down due to jealousy and their belief that you owe them something because you are better off then they are.

*1)Women's benefits, don't get married.*
*2)Kids are moochers, the less of them you have the better.*
*3)Friends are temporary depending on phases in your life.*
*4)Big difference between cheap and frugal.*
*5)Fight lifestyle inflation by reaching back and helping people with their financial IQ.*
*6)Lawsuits sue them first.*
*7)Family feud? Take gramps to Vegas help him spend his money on partying, so he lives his last days to the max and no money left to fight over.*
*8)Already answered it. See 3).*
*9)Missing out on memories. Who cares if you live long enough you can't remember where you left your keys.*
*10)Living a minimalistic life style, provides you a life of abundance.*

*It's definitely "worth it" to make more money.*

If you don't have "friends" right now, what makes you think you'll have real friends when you're poor? Yes, people tend to stick together when they share the same miseries, but is that true "friendship"? How many people stop becoming friends when one becomes more successful and rich, and no longer in the slump?

I've been holding this video for a few days, I new it would be a gem! With that being said, personally, I came head to head with the "was it worth it question two years ago". I've made more money in 12 days than most people around me made in 12 months. I've worked 80 plus hour work weeks for the past seven years. I don't remember many things about my kids growing up because I was never there. I never spent time with my wife unless we were on vacation either. So was it worth it for me? Absolutely not! I've can honestly say, I've done more in one year than most people have done in 20 years but it's not worth it to me. Now I see it for what it is, but it took me getting here to realize it. I truly envy the person who has an average 9-5 job, is happy living in a single wide trailer house on an acre of land and truly enjoys life everyday, whether single, with a spouse, or hanging out with the kids. See, I lost all of those memories! While I enjoy watching your investing strategies and everything else you produce, I hope you find something better at the end of the tunnel than me. Best of luck!

Lower middle class problems I can say from personal experience.
All your relatives back in the "old country" think you're rich because you were raised abroad.
But a quick look at Instagram reveals they eat out and take more weekend trips much more often than we do.

I always think its crazy that inheritance can cause friction in families. Maybe its just me, but i don't even think about that in my financial future. I'm building my own wealth and worrying about my own money

Rich people are definitely on another level in terms of worries

Some of the most screwed up people I’ve ever met are children of wealthy people. It really is a huge problem, and very sad to see.

In my experience the really wealthy people I know are completely 'normal' - not flash, not tight. The people who brag about their new Ferrari, their holiday home, their amazing lifestyle, never even buy a round of drinks, they'll take yours and then disappear when it's their turn. Basically because they're skint and all that stuff is on credit.

"Stealth Wealth" is my way of living! I'm almost always dirty looking. My clothes are old and worn (and comfortable). I love driving my 30 year old Honda. I've always said that when I start making bank, no one would ever be able to tell.
