Are Black Friday prices the best holiday shopping deals?

Analysts say that while there are great deals to be found on Black Friday, some prices may not be as good as earlier markdowns. Experts say consumers should use price checking tools and take advantage of price matching in stores to get the best deals. NBC News' Brian Cheung reports.

I worked in retail for some years, and a lot of times, stores put a sale sign on a clothing display, and people get excited when, in fact, they are not saving anything because the price of the items on the clothing rack has been the same all year, just like the lady said in the video. I received an email today saying there's a huge sale going on at a store I like so I opened the email and the big sale there bragging about is 10 percent off. To them that's a big sale, I guess.

The graph and the price on the price tag is inconsistent

It can be but you will have to do your research about prices before. Most doorbuster prices are discounted. I buy a lot of pricey clothes and collectibles and I know how much they go on sale on other days of the year so I’m aware of which is a good deal. This year was my most expensive Black Friday shopping because I planned ahead on what I wanted to buy. I got an electric scooter that I was eying on which was already cheap for value but they marked it down a $100 more for this Black Friday week.

10% 30% 20% 5% is not a sale and a lot of the merchandise that they say it's on sale is the regular price for the item.

Is the intention to make the false claim seem more credible or believable by selectively highlight facts that may seem relevant to the false claim? This can confuse the audience into thinking the falsehood is equally valid as the truth.

Why are news media reporting this. I own and operate 3 electronic stores for past 10 years every year on Black Friday, sales are barely above the forecast. We are just trying to make a living and these news are not helping.
