Hubby and I picked up a copy of Whipped Cream and Other Delights at a thrift store because of this show. We had a moment where we both discovered it and gave each other this look. It sits proudly in his nerd cave.

I bought a 1978 pressing of Darkness On the Edge of Town on that was still shrink wrapped for $18. One of the ways I can tell is that there is no bar code on it anywhere. Plus i looked up the number in discogs. It's awesome. :)

Great show as always, Geek! The Boss albums are all amazing; "Katy Lied", too. Keep up the great shows!

Great Springsteen pickups. Just yesterday I was in this thrift store that I love that has a great selection, but isn't know for it's deals. Everything was ten, twenty bucks (which all the prices were fair. A lot of Beatles and Elvis, appropriate pricing, but I'm saving for record store day). Until I stumble upon a MINT copy of Born in the USA for just 3 bucks. Easiest decision ever. Haven't gotten that good a deal since I bought Rumors by Fleetwood Mac for a dollar.

Good stuff! That Steely Dan is a really good one, and all those Boss albums are fantastic!

Love watching your videos, they are so interesting, as a beginner in record collecting but a huge music fan I can't believe how boring my collection is, I wish I could venture out and try new stuff, so watching your videos make me want to go out and try new stuff and genres, quick question, can you do a video on how you store your collection? Im intrigued as I have about 30 records now but have no idea about how to store them in the best looking and efficient way, once again, love love love your videos and can't wait till the next one, cheers, Andy

I love King of America! One of his best, along with its electric counterpart(as I see it), next album Blood and Chocolate

You gotta review that Steely Dan album, as well as all their albums. Great band. Try Aja and Royal Scam.

I would absolutely love an Elvis Costello review! I'm seriously obsessing over his first 5 albums or so right now, and I think his material was really important in the formation of Alternative as we know it. Eric man if you haven't heard his second album "This Year's Model", it's arguably more cohesive than "My Aim is True", and at least on par, I think. Also has some unique differences between the pressings. Something to check out!

Love your videos!  The Tone Poems LP is really rare.  I've never seen one in person.  And The Costello is his first foray into more rootsy music, the kind of stuff he is still doing today.  I actually like that album a lot.  Maybe give it another spin.  Take care.

Some nice finds! I'd start by listening to that Steely Dan LP first! I recently discovered that band. I mean, besides the song "Do it again" of course!

Whoa, there are so many Elvis Costello distractors on this thread, I'm worried you might just forget about him. Don't take their word for it! Elvis had an amazing run of new wave albums in the late 70s and early 80s, but he's always never been one to rest on his laurels and unlike other artists of the era who are still trotting out greatest hits tours, Elvis has constantly recorded new material ever since including country, soul, big band, classical, easy. He's collaborated with Allen Toussaint, Burt Bacharach, Paul McCartney to name just a few. His team-up with The Roots a couple of years ago was incredible.
With a work rate that's comparable to Woody Allen's, some albums are going to patchy, but overall? Don't give up on "King of America" and check out some others! "Blood And Chocolate" is probably his 80s masterpiece. Trust me, you ARE an Elvis Costello fan!

I had to laugh when you mentioned buying every copy of Whipped Cream you find. That obsession for me is the album "But, Beautiful" by the Norman Lubboff Choir. Suzy Parker (the FIRST super model, from the 1950s)  and her impossibly long neck just gets me, my favorite cover of all time, gorgeous. I've got 17 copies of it! (You can Google it to see it)

Personally King of America is one of my favorite Elvis Costello albums.

Morris Day peeking over your shoulder.  What time is it, he asks?  Time for a review of Love's album Forever Changes...LOL.  I miss smoking Marlboro's.  Cool find.  Haircut 100!  Nick Heyward, soooo cool.  Love +1!

LOVE Steely Dan and Katy Lied is a superb album ('Aja' is my fav however!)  BTW, you can never have enough 'Whipped Cream & other Delights!"

Katy Lied - love that album - the song We'll all go to the movies (whatever it's called) is about showing porn to teens by a molestery creep... Black Friday may be my favorite Steely Dan song.  Nebraska was recorded on a cassette four track - they tried to use those demos to make a proper studio album but he couldn't get the same feel, so he used the demos for the album.

Hey geek. Its late so I will keep it short. Phil collins first 4 albums are great but controversially my all time is his 4th with his second coming second. Pelican west is good. Favourite shirts is awesome. Look for their Nobodys fool 12" which is their best singke ever. Akso check out their singer nick heywards solo stuff. Last, best Elvis costello is armed forces. It is a classic especially olivers army, accidents....and the awesome green shirt. Good night from east uk. And as always, thanks for the up.

Agree about Barry White,  however No Jacket Required by Phil Collins in 1985 is a favorite album for me,  so happy that it won Album of the Year at The 1986 GRAMMYs, also "Take Me Home"'s among the best album closers ever! My all-time favorite artists are Electric Light Orchestra, Phil Collins, Genesis, Buckner & Garcia, Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers, The Alan Parsons Project, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, The Beatles, The J. Geils Band, Chicago, Paul Simon, Simon & Garfunkel, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Journey, Foreigner, The Cars, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Elton John, Olivia Newton-John, Three Dog Night, Chuck Berry and Stevie Wonder along with many more! 8-)
