I am not an art critic, nor historian, nor archivist. I cannot tell you where Jon's work ranks in the oral and folklore traditions of this great nation. But I am an American! So I can tell you what I BELIEVE! And what I believe is this - that Walter Cronkite and Richard Pryor had a baby."

On the afternoon of 9/11 2001, Bruce Springsteen was walking in the street of New Jersey and a random driver yelled at him :" Bruce, we need you! " .... The fact that this driver felt that Bruce could help the nation to recover from this tragedy with his music and presence, it tells a lot about the importance of The Boss.

I swear, I've watched this more than 20 x! And I'm watching it again in June 2020! What a break from the COVID-19 insanity and renewed racial crisis! Thank you, Jon Stewart and Bruce Springsteen! Both of you are national treasures!

I defy anyone to name a better person to do this for Bruce. And as a fan of the Kennedy center honors, this was easily one of the best intros ever

The James Brown/Bob Dylan thing is not only funny, it is 110% ACCURATE. It's what makes The Boss unique. It's what makes him different, from say, Neil Young. From a lyrical standpoint, Bruce took a lot from Dylan, but in terms of his music, and more importantly, his stage persona, he took from James Brown. Bruce really comes from the soul tradition more than the folk tradition. His concerts are religious revivals. I know he has solo projects that contradict this, but really, the best way to describe Bruce is that he is a cross between Dylan and Brown. I might also add a little John Fogerty and Van Morrison as well.

Hands down one of the greatest tributes ever spoken about one of the greatest rock and roll legends ever.

My stepdad, who is from Philly, sent me this and said "this is why we loved Bruce Springsteen" that line where "you are not a loser. You are a character in an epic poem about losers." I didn't have that growing up. I didn't get Springsteen for a long time until I was 18-19 and I finally got it. I bought Born to Run and then mercifully, I understood.

Jon Stewart is such a badass. At one point he was the most trusted man in the news media, even though he was a comedian and wasn't a newsperson, that tells you just how special this man was to a lot of young folks.

Truly, one of if not the best speech given at any of the Kennedy Center Honors. Jon Stewart is a National Treasure. We are blessed,

3:11 It's one of those rare moments where you can see De Nero is truly amazed at someone's punchline. I can imagine he was saying in his head – “Now, that’s called a funny bastard. He is funny. No, I mean it, he’s funny.”

Beautiful speech. Jon Stewart talks so eloquently, with compassion, charm & Charisma. If in any doubt, have a look at some of his 9/11 speeches, truly inspirational.

You know you have done well when Mel Brooks is laughing at your delivery. Well done, Jon. The comedic timing and the great respect shown was fantastic.

This is a beautiful accolade to one our most authentic American songwriters and musicians. Bob Dylan and James Brown indeed. Thank you, Bruce Springsteen, for taking our American songbook and taking it to another authentic level. Bruce, Bruce, Bruce.
