how in the hells did you miss the best johnson quote "regret, regret, regret - - - - - Dear Humanity... We regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!"

Honestly the best dialogue I’ve seen in a game. Nearly every line is quotable

Just wanted to add this but Halo 2 Anniversary is not really controversial in the Halo community because it kept the art style and atmosphere of each level unlike Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Another win is that in the city mission when you get to the cut scene with Johnson and the tank, depending on what difficulty you play it on, the speech he gives changes. This has been a running theme in both Halo CE and Halo 3.

One of my favourite things about the High Prophets: Truth; only tells llies, Mercy; is shown no mercy, Regret; only performs actions he'll come to regret. I LOVE the little things in the story telling like that.

This is why is love Tartarus, he’s what Arbiter could’ve become and depressing once you realise one of the reasons he was so desperate was likely because the great journey was the only thing keeping his people from tearing each other apart, once he dies his race after Halo 3 just regresses even further and nearly destroy themselves.

Not only is Mercy's line about the taming of the hunters and the grunt rebellion exposition, but it also serves as foreshadowing since the two aliens that join the elites during the Great Schism (at least in Halo 2) are the Hunters and Grunts

Relevant, but I'm a highly religious person, and Halo 2 has always been one of my favorite games ever made, showing how important a journey of discovery is when searching for the truth. If I had any missed wins, I wish you had referenced Blow Me Away.

If you play on Heroic like I usually do, Johnson's tank speech is along the lines of:

"Back when I joined the Corps we didn't have any fancy-shmancy tanks, we had sticks. Two sticks and a rock for the whole platoon! And we had to share the rock. Buck up! You're one damn lucky marine!"

People scream about being lied to or stuff when they start to play as the arbiter but if I remember correctly when I first played halo 2 and was suddenly playing as him I believe my exact words were im playing as the covenant? This is so freaking awesome!"

I was like 13 or something at the time so memory isnt as good but basically I was so fucking hyped for it when it happened

God I hope Blur Studios is involved with the Halo series coming to Paramount+. Hell, get them for any Halo related stuff that isn't just cutscenes for the games. They're seriously talented!

I'm actually playing Halo for the first time. I downloaded the Master Chief collection and I'm about 25% of the way through Halo 2. I never understood the hype for the series until I started playing the games for myself

After playing Halo 1 all those years ago, Halo 2 was a complete mystery to me until this year when I finally played it on the MCC. And it was all that I expected and then some.

Arbiter running through his fallen brothers and the sad score gives me Order 66 vibes and man do I get goosebumps everytime

Thel Vadaam is actually such a good character, halo in general has such a amazing universe, and sadly most people write it off as just "shoot alien good"

12:20 rather, the armor is more ceremonial yet disposable and specialized for what the Prophets needed at the time. "The Council will have their corpse..."

The armor is looks first, with second grade tech fitted because its wearer is meant to eventually succumb on the field of battle.

Also, notice how Tartarus is always close when the Arbiter is deployed. His presence is likely ordered by the Prophets to document the success or failure of the Arbiter, so the Prophets can decide if/when to have Tartarus dispose of the Arbiter. This Arbiter survived all the way till the Elites were excommunicated, if that wasn't to pass, he likely would have served at least a few more suicidal missions before the order is given to Tartarus to execute him.

20:24 THIS THIS THIS!!! I was raised hardcore religious all my life and only recently learned that the church I went to was actually a cult and that it was all a lie. A few months after leaving all my friends and former beliefs behind I went back to this game, and this scene hit me so hard I had to pause the game and cried for a solid half an hour.

15:53 That’s because Sargeant Avery J. Johnson is a spartan 1, it’s how he’s immune to the flood infections

A cool note I'm a _little_ surprised you missed in regards to the Gravemind:

He speaks (mostly) in Iambic Septameter—similar to the Iambic Pentameter used in a lot of classical epic poems, but with seven beats/emphasized syllables per line instead of five (because Bungie loves the number seven). For example, count the capitalized words/syllables here:

"THIS one IS maCHINE and NERVE, and HAS its MIND conCLUDED;
THIS one IS but FLESH and FAITH, and IS the MORE deLUDED."

6:00 I like how Keyes grins a little at Johnson's joke. Not even _sitcoms_ do that.
