What is Kubernetes?

Kubernetes is a portal, an open-source platform for managing containerised
workloads and services that facilitate declarative configuration, letting you run a distributed
system resiliently with scaling of your application.

Kubernetes is a container orchestrator (with respect to software) that ensures each container is
positioned correctly to work together. Just like the conductor manages every minute detail in
the orchestra, the same way the Kubernetes platform makes sure that the services are running
smoothly in the way the app developer wants.
