Matt Damon on being named in Shakira's 'Men In This Town'

[MTV 2009] Video of the Oscar winner Matt Damon talking about being named in Shakira's track: “I heard about this. I know, I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “Somebody told me that recently. Shakira actually sent my wife and I her new [CD] with a sweet note. We know her and she’s great, and I’m honored to be in one of her lyrics.”
“Oh yeah, [I'm a fan],” he said. “I live in a Latin house (His wife was born in Argentina) That’s just the way it is.”

Before that, Shakira explained in MTV News why she used his name in the tune: “I know Matt Damon,” she said. “I know him and his wife. It’s all good. This is a song and Damon really rhymed with the other word. Matt Damon is actually a terrific dude — I’m saying it in a good way. What I’m actually saying is there aren’t many great guys out there and Matt Damon is one of them. I love Matt Damon. He’s so great. He’s a good sport, too.”

Básicamente dice que hace poco alguien le había mencionado que salía en una canción de Shakira, dice que le parece genial, que el y su esposa la conocen y que les parece una gran artista y que es muy cool ser parte de una de sus letras. Dice que su casa es muy latina (seguramente su esposa es latina) y cuando el entrevistador le dice que entonces casi que tiene que ser fan, el dice que no tiene que serlo sino que simplemente lo es. Es decir le gusta Shakira como artista.

Cuando escuché el estribillo de esta canción, también se me vino en mente el nombre del actor. " Matt Damon" 😁😁

I really thought I had mistaken the lyric and that it surely said "that table's not meant for me" like the singles table at a wedding.
