If you open the top it can sometimes help you get the water through, just make sure you’re not covering the hole or it will do nothing.

I've been using mine for about two years now, changed the filter after 1 year. Here we are two dozen hikes and camping trips later and never had problems drinking from any water source with this. Definitely helps on saving weight in the backpack not having to carry too much water.

Why don't they make these in vibrant colors incase you drop it or it falls into moving water, it would be way to easier to see and find

Maybe a dumb question but can it filter toilet water after you used it? Reason I asked is I saw in your photo that it filters out viruses. Bacteria too? But if an animal dies in the water upstream from you and you drink the water, you're going to get sick. That why some people boil it or others add a pill or two.

I haven't owned or used any of these water purification bottles so I have a question. Do you wash the filter, or just let the dirt stay in there until it needed to be changed? If it does how many times do you use it until it needs to be changed?

Buy a sawyer squeeze filter for 20 bucks. Can filter 100, 000 gallons of water before needing replaced and MUCH smaller.
