I think the answer to the last one is that we study so much that we don't have communication with the real world throughout med school and then we are fully immersed in the language of medicine that we gradually forget our first language.

Re: the Diet Coke question: If nurses and admin run entirely on the spinach, kale, pineapple, banana smoothie- why isn’t there just one person making those nonstop? I ask this as a theatre professional who worked as a hospital admin during shutdown
