The Last Nomadic Reindeer Herders in the World

Accessible only by horseback, a remote village in Mongolia has stood as the epicenter of reindeer herding for thousands of years. The nomadic Dukha people have been passing down their herding heritage for generations. Today, they remain the last reindeer herders in the world. Due to harsh weather conditions, more and more herders are moving to the cities, leaving the Mongolian tradition on the brink of extinction. But for the families left in the area, it is an honor to keep alive the culture and practices of their ancestors before them.

Title should be "The Last Nomadic Reindeer Herders in the World" more than anything. There are a lot of herders in Northern Europe. Title is very misleading. Being nomadic herder in Northern Europe isn't really a thing anymore, but herding is a very common lifestyle still.

A few things to elaborate.
The thing is that they still live nomadic lifestyle. Currently the fastest way to reach them is to ride horse for 2 days. There is no other way to reach them by vehicle. People drive to the closest settlement and from there on, ride horse for several days riding through the dense forest to reach them. All in all going there, spending one day with them and them coming back takes 5 days of horse riding. So they are truly isolated. In fact, these reindeer herding nomads in Mongolia are divided into 2 camps. Each camp has certain individual almost acting as a chieftain making decisions and speaking on behalf of everyone. Except very few, almost no one in Mongolia has ventured into these forests they live in.

This is very alike the Swedish, Norwegian and Finish Sami culture. I think you should make a video about them too. (I’m sorry for my spelling 🤭)

The title was very confusing.
So they aren't the last reindeer herders. They are the last nomadic Mongolian reindeer herders.

It's harsh but beautiful to live detached from busy modern society.

Such beautiful creatures! I did not expect to see a Teepees on this video. I was expecting for a Yurt. Maybe yurts are for bigger families? -40 degrees in those tents? Even if they have a stove in the middle of the teepees and vents, they may have to bundle up/dress in more layers.
