So, if China refers to ROC and there is only one China, you are saying PRC belongs to Taiwan?

Only naval power can stop China. Taiwan needs to build a powerful navy and the US needs to position ships between China and Taiwan. But even more important, the Taiwanese need to be completely united and determined to resist. Any divisions or hesitation will be fatal.

that not the real question, as UN already recognise Taiwan is PRC territory. the question is, is Taiwan using Gray Zone Tactics to be independent? especially since it constitution state that change in status quo can only be done with a public referredum to which none has been call by the government, so does the government even has the legtimately under it own constitution to pursuit independence?

people like to compare Taiwan with Ukraine, but Taiwan is not Ukraine, Taiwan is Crimea. like Crimea, Taiwan is not recognised by the US, EU and Japan government as a soverign states. it was in fact a mistake for Taiwan government to give money to Lithuania because Lithuania does not recognise Taiwan. doing so create a problem whereby all current state that recognise Taiwan now expect to be given even more money than Lithuania for their support. and that lead to Taiwan losing recognition from some of the countries that use to recognise Taiwan.

Taiwan need a new leadership that is able to better weight what is important rather than a leadership that make it decision based on hype and not properly thought out the consequences of it action. the goal of Taiwan should be to gain recognition, not pay money to lose recognition!

China has the absolute sole right to exercise its sovereignty over Taiwan

Taiwan "largest" military exercise is also seen as a disappointing "retreat" over the decades, from when ROCA exercise to "counterattack mainland", to "holding the middle line of Taiwan strait", to "stopping the enemy from landing", to ending up in the current execrise of "fighting in the street of Taiwan". so it is very clear that ROCA has already conceded not only the strait but even the coastline of Taiwan.

China isn't changing the status quo, the 2 side are technically at war, there is no peace treaty to "change". it just that DPP has no real interest to support the ROCA because they see them as colonial leftover of the nationalist regime. and that is a very dangerous position to be in, if the army doesn't believe the politician has their back. they are more likely to surrender. you can't cut the army pension and relax military authority and not expect a decline in political control over the army. what we see is alot of ROCAF pilot quiting and going to the mainland to work in civilian airlines. which means they can no longer serve as reserved pilot in conflict. yet the DPP doesn't do anything to improve the benefit of pilot to try and keep them in Taiwan.

look at the numbers, the numbers don't lie... ROCA is not able to keep it manpower, people are quitting. how do you maintain status quo when you are deleting your own army? buying weapon from US is pointless if there is no one to manned them. the problem Taiwan faces is not a weapon platform problem, it is a manpower problem because the welfare of the army is just bad.

Taiwan is not a sovereign nation, as supported by 98% of the UN members including USA.
The Chinese civil war is still technically on as there is no truce or agreement between the rival parties PRC vs ROC.
PRC is still controlled by CPC while ROC has changed hands between Koumintang and DPP.
So the median line between mainland China and Taiwan island does not technically hold. More ever the small islands of Matsu n Jingmen are on the mainland side of the median line but held on by ROC.
PRC could easily take them back within half and hour, else just blockade these islands. Can also cut the water supplies but these actions can cause hardships to the citizens on these islands which the PRC feels not right as eventually these islanders will be under mainland control.
China can morally and technically use force to retake the ownership of Taiwan. It soft soft approach is impossible then go for the hard way.
The people in Taiwan need to use the brain to conclude a solution with mainland and not be hoodwinked by the devilish tactics of the US and lately Japanese hoodlums. Get rid of those DPP actors Tsai, William Lai and others thru election if not by military coup. Trial those with treasons. Rewrite the Chinese history in Taiwan's school textbooks.

Very silly talk, if Taiwan is an independent state than they should declare Independent, all the western country particular d US should support Taiwan independent get Taiwan into the UN.

No, the phrasing used by Jimmy Carter in his broadcast to the world, and also in the US State Department website is: There is only one China, and Taiwan is part of China.
