Now that the cooler, cozy season is upon us, naturally we crave soul-warming red wines. So The Wine Sisters' founding sommelier, Erin Henderson, will show you some great cheeses to pair this fall.
Erin also shows you how to style a fall themed cheeseboard with the sophisticated simplicity of the French, to really let cheese take centre stage. And set against the warm glow of a swirling red wine, it is a delicious and pretty way to entertain this fall.
A few quick sips – we mean, tips! – on getting a great red wine pairing for your fall cheeseboard:
🍷 Select light and medium bodied, fruity red wines with lower tannin, and brighter acidity
🍷 Red wines such as Gamay, Pinot Noir, some Chiantis and Bordeaux are good options
🍷Sparkling red wine like Lambrusco is also a terrific cheese pairing – and unexpected!
🍷As much as we love powerful, firm red wines, they can overpower many cheeses, so save those for your dinners of roasted and braised meats
