I’m loving the analysis in the comments. My take on him “living in the future” relates to the anxiety he lives with. You are rarely able to live in the present with anxiety because you’re constantly worrying about stuff that hasn’t happened yet in case it does, even if it’s absurd.

I take "I'm living in the future" to have (at least) 2 meanings here.

The first is internal to Bo in the moment: it's a comment on the fantasy of having a daughter and getting lost in that while his current life isn't going well -- he's imagining the possibility of things getting better, living in a false alternate world where they already have and in doing so causing his situation in the real world to get worse -- the fantasy is a vice, providing some form of emotional relief but all the while contributing to the spiral of self-destruction he's experiencing.

The second, in context with the rest of Inside, is more external. Bo produced and released this entire multimedia special from his house, by himself, during a global pandemic. The technology exists for him to be able to do that; Bo is living in the future. He looks at the camera, at us watching him from the comfort of our own homes via data traveling at unbelievable speeds through wires and air; so are we. We're all living in the future and things are awful. The modern state of the internet exceeds science fiction. There are seemingly endless advancements but with each technological innovations, on a fundamental level, people become more unhappy. Smile for the camera.
