I had to make this bop of a song into its own video. 🎶

This song makes me feeling like I’m sinking deeper and deeper into the darkness of depression and mundane things. Bo Burnham is brilliant always ahead of his time with his art and commentary

"Oh right it's this again."

I'm not even quarantined anymore and i still feel like that.

"Is it gonna end?"
"Yes"
"When?"
"Never"

Yeah that's about how it feels

There is an old adage that if you have depression, you are living in the past; if you have anxiety, you’re living in the future.

This song is incredible.

I think part of the melody from this was used for Problematic. It sounds really good too

This song was so catchy! I recognized Problematic’s tune immediately which was also one of my favorite songs from the special.

I loved the simplicity of
"I bought an app to help me meditate, it didn't work I'm living in the future."

I just noticed that the only time in the video he looks *at* the camera is when he repeats “I’m living in the future (uhuh)” x4. And it’s so smart because it’s like breaking the 4th wall, looking ahead of himself as he’s editing the video and/or watching the special. Every other time, he looks away from the camera; then he looks into the camera, also his future self any time he comes back to this. Already looking ahead to future-Bo-Burnham watching this video back while editing/watching.

‘I’ll bother getting better when I bother getting dressed’
‘Is it gonna end? (Yeah) When? (Never)’
Illustrates my struggle clearly.

"Am I depressed?(Yeah)
stressed? (Yeah)
It's anyone's guess"
Love it this is so genius. It shows that depression is just really obvious for the person experiencing it but hard to notice for other people.

“This bottle shampoos and conditions it’s a two for one” is a lot more haunting when you realize a lot of suicidal people tell themselves not to commit until they finish their shampoo and conditioner at the same time

-No
-What?
-Nothing
-That’s what I thought

This is my favorite Bo song. I have spent so much time avoiding my present, by reliving the past or fantasizing about the future. And when I was fantasizing about my future, my daughter was there. I still struggle with with depression so this is my existential loop vocalized.

this is so real, that feeling of living constantly in a hypothetical future where everything is worse or where everything is better when you are depressed or anxious in a bed unable to move because everything takes such a massive amount of energy. it's cathartic for me to hear this, trying to have no mental health crises for months on end this year, thank you to Bo for making this song.

I absolutely loved this song from the moment I first heard it, I was just in awe of the creativity and the lyrical expression of depression and a sinking dread of the future and existentialism

This song does an excelent job of capturing the feeling that you’ll never get better and you’ll be stuck this way forever. Sigh….. I should book another therapy appointment

I like to think the disembodied voice saying "yeah" after bo asks if hes depressed is Socko. Makes sense since he complied after bo's slightly threatening "...What?" at the end lol
