A7Cii has better low light performance than ZVE1?
In this video, I will show you the side-by-side comparison of Sony A7Cii vs ZV-E1 at extreme dark environment, using s-log3 to test the limit of low light performance of both cameras. Join me to find out which camera has better extreme low light capacity.

Gorgeous @ 0:08 what settings do you use for this this type of walking footage? (ISO, F-Stop, Focus settings). I find that when filming walking footage in low light, the camera has a tendency to pull focus to the people walking by, ruining the video. How did you prevent this?

Thank you for the good test as always! As a ZVE1 user who seldom use SLog3 with 2nd base ISO, I wish the results is opposite, sigh! Do you think you can do one more test: A7CII shoot in 4k60p (cropped) vs ZVE1 4k60p in low light? If take the lens focal length equivalent, even better?:)

that was the same case with the a7s III and A7 IV (both the same sensors). the special feature of the a7s III/ZV-E1 is the second native iso with 12800 and almost no loss of dynamic range. And of course the noise appears finer on a 33mp sensor.

Thank you for your videos! Try to repeat the test, only then add noise reduction in post-production, I think the a7c2 will show more details than the zv-e1, because the zv-e1 includes an internal noise reduction at 12800 ISO

I have a a7cii and I get moving black lines on low light situation. only clear at shutter speed of 50 0r 100 (so I shouldn`t use 30 and 60fps.
Someone have the same problem?

This is a good ahh channel. Super detailed info 😊

I was thinking, always use either base ISO for zve1. For low light, always set 12800 fixed and just put ND filter all the way to adjust the exposure as needed.

Would love to see the a7cr capabilities in low light for videos

Hi which image do you think is better for photos and videos in terms of sharpness and colors?

Great, but i would push that iso a little bit harder to see the bigger number 😊😊

Any update on this..Im thinking about an A7CII but not having a daul based iso like most of sony cameras might not get it🤷‍♂️

Thanks a lot for this comparison. If we use fast prime lenses (f1.4, f 1.8) A7Cii seems to be a better choice.

I was doing similar tests with my A7C II and I totally agree with you, it seems there is no 2nd base ISO at ISO 3200 on SLog3 (despite what other sources say). I did multiple low light tests and I always got more noise at ISO 3200 than all the ISOs that were less than 3200. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you! I think I'll trade my A7C for A7CII now

Ill tell you more! A7Siii has less noise and more dynamic range at the same setting with the same lenses as the ZVE1 !!!! Wouldnt have believed it, but I did the test myself!

Yeah it’s weird that the ZVE1 has different results at different ISO 😅

It’s just because pixels are smaller than the Zv-e1
