I turned our "shop" into our pantry. It's taken me months to move everything out there. Will be using a window ac/heat unit... keep it around 68° all year long! We have 1 upright, 1 small chest freezers...2 1/2walls full of food! Stackable washer/dryer, water heater also in there. Freezer dryer coming end of January... already set up for...

Hi Lisa, I enjoy all your videos even these canning ones, but I am too scared to even do that because I am blind. I was talking to my sister and she thinks between both of us we can do it without killing anybody lol.

Omg the sale at Forjars was totally amazing! I stocked up on lids and even though I really didn’t need another canner…I bought the canner anyway 🤦🏼‍♀️

While reorganizing my pantry room I’ve come across several jars that have unsealed…I found one jar of green tomatoes that I had left the ring on and as I was taking the ring off it’s contents came bubbling out 😮 I wished I would’ve had my camera on because that was a perfect example as to why you take the rings off

I'll make a roux in my pan with flour and butter, then using the lid on the jar, pour the broth into the roux pan. Makes a nice easy "gravy" then dump in the meat and veggies to warm. Easy stew or shepherds pie base.

I want to tell you about how many people in Sweden react when I tell them about canning.
The other day I attended the board meeting of local garden club where I'm a member and while we were having dinner one of the other members asked about canning, because she had noticed my interest in canning on Facebook where I sometime post about canning.
She remembered how her mother used to can and was curious if I used the same equipment.
When I started to tell them about modern canning some of the others said things like "But WHY?!", "Why would you can vegetable soup when it's so easy to just make soup when you have dinner?".
And so on.
I tried to explain but they could not understand why I would go to the trouble and expense.
I, to be honest, got quite offended, but of course I didn't show them I was hurt by their reactions.
Now I've turned the hurt in to determination.
And when there's a power outage I'll heat a home made can of soup and pity the other board members. 😊
Thank you Leisa, for everything you've taught me and others. ❤❤️❤️

That was one good lookin roast!! Don`t think I`ve ever had that cut before. I love vegetable beef soup! We`re eating a lot of soups lately. I was in the mood for chicken stew the other nite..so I opened a jar of my chicken soup..(chicken, carrots, celery, onions & broth)..along with a jar of my potatoes, undrained. Heated it up..slightly mashed the potatoes a bit for smaller pieces, thickened it up & was wonderful! Thanks for another great video, Leisa

Hi Lisa! My local grocery store has bottom round roast on sale. I'm SO loading up this weekend to make veggie beef soup and get it on the shelf. I prefer leaner cuts of beef for my canned soup. When I crack it open, I add barley. Oh, Lordy! It's the BOMB on a cold day with buttered crusty bread. LOVE your vids! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

Looks delicious! I love homemade, canned vegetable beef soup! So convenient too. I’m super excited for Canuary! I can hardly wait! I missed the sale that For Jars had on Black Friday. I want a pressure canner from For Jars, but I have an All American and I’m an empty nester now so I’m not sure that I need it, just want it lol. Thank you for sharing with us Leisa!

Absolutely love watching your videos! I have some beef to can up from the freezer! Sounds like I’m going to have beef vegetable soup on my shelves, sooner rather than later! As always, thank you for the awesome idea! ❤❤

Leisa, I got my canner today!!! Yeah. Caught your video and thought, next month I’ll be canning beef and chicken soup. In case the grid goes down or we’re knee deep in snow and we lose power, I can heat up my soup. 🍜 Thanks for showing the canning process like tonight’s video. I’ve been studying it all summer and ready to make the plunge. Yours came out looking beautiful. Thanks again. Love 💕 and Hugs. ❤❤❤

In my area, if you can get beef for under 5 dollars a pound its a deal! I really love that you're reminding us of the great things to put on the shelf for a later time. It so easy to make the barley or rice and pasta when you open it. I also heat it back up. I thicken it for gravy and serve over some potatoes. It warms the soul 😊❤

Yummm, those look delicious! Psyching myself up to become a home canner this year. So helpful to know I can freeze the meat and then can it at a later date. Anything that keeps me from having to heat up the house durning hot summer months is a really good thing!
