The extra padding on the lumbar/lower spine region of your Embody is exclusive to the *Logitech* gaming version of the chair. If you get the regular version of the Embody, it doesn't have that extra padding and many people find it far more comfortable. The extra padding is designed to promote a more upright posture and provide more lumbar support while leaning forward in the chair (like most people do while gaming intensely), but it can become uncomfortable over time if you sit normally. The two chairs are 95% the same, but the difference is enough that I've heard people say that the Gaming version of the Embody caused them back pain and the regular Embody fixed it.

I have the Logitech Embody right now and I'm considering exchanging it for the regular Embody because the I'm noticing the same slight discomfort in the lumbar region that you mentioned. It wouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker for me if the regular Embody didn't exist, but the price difference isn't enough to make me accept the compromise.

I have to agree with you man… I’ve had the regular embody for a couple years, busted out my old leap V2 for fun and it made me realize the Embody causes me A LOT of pain, particularly in the lower back. I also hate how it makes my shoulders feel. Might buy another Aeron again, or try a Fern

I believe the wobble is a defect on the specific embody chair you received. It took my body about 3 weeks to adjust to the embody. I had discomfort and pain to my lower back when sitting on the embody initially. I adjusted the seat so I had a 2 finger gap between my legs and the seat. The discomfort got to the point where I wanted to return the chair. Good thing I stuck it out and it's the best office chair I ever owned. I owned a herman miller aeron remastered prior to the embody. I feel like they are both about the same when it comes to ergonomics but the embody just gives you way more play and freedom to move around when sitting. You don't have the same freedom with the aeron based on the plastic and mesh design but the aeron is still a great chair. I would recommend taking advantage of the 30 day return policy herman miller offers. 1 weeks is not enough time to try out the chair and make a final conclusion in my honest opinion.

I get why the Embody gets lots of high praise, but when I tried it myself, I found the backrest and seat way too thin and uncomfortable. I much prefer full mesh seats like the Aeron or the ErgoTune Supreme V3/Hinomi H1 Pro in Singapore. But great honest review man!

I’m a weight lifter and had the same issues. The soreness from the evo 2022 had me get an embody based on reviews and aesthetics…that didn’t work either and felt worse and then I finally landed on the the gaming Aeron. I can say the Aeron is the GOAT and solved all my lower back issues and provides my wide back amazing support. Does it look basic? Yes but Never looking back.

Have you had any comparison vs the regular Embody? I found many comments that point out some differences that may indicate its the better chair for your needs

How did you find the Sayl chair? I noticed that there hadn't been a follow up video so was curious

The reason why the sayl is never mentioned is because the backrest is extremely small. If you're over 5'8 and/or with large shoulders, you'll rest on the outer frame of it, which makes it very uncomfortable. I would recommend the Verus any time of the day

I hope the Sayl worked out for you. After years of wrestling with chairs, I've finally settled on alternating between a Haworth Fern and a Steelcase Leap V2. They're both great. For me though, the Fern is the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in, by far. Throw an Atlas Headrest on and it's pure perfection.

Foam roll before and after on your quads and piriformis. Lookup foam rolling techniques. I have the exact by description, your same issue and this was a game changer. First thing in the AM, hit it. Flare up in the lower back, hit it. You'll be amazed in how after 5-10 minutes, gone. Get a stiff foam roller but not the one with the large spikes. At least not yet.

In regards to the chair, 9 months have past so you're probably done. I'd say try out the Logitech Gaming Embody version if the cost is ok. It's much, not too much but yeah, better than the normal embody.

Im in the same position. Its a very good chair but has to much flaws for me. Most of them are similiar to yours.

- Its noisy. On that part where u expand the size of the seat. Also the armrests have some spots where they make noises.
- The lumbar support is a little to aggressive for my taste, i cant adjust it directly. If i lean back with my shoulders more then the lumbar is even more aggressive.
- Also i feel a little pressure under my legs sometimes.

I got a 800€ used Aeron fully equiped and am happy now. Feels like sitting on a cloud and zero noise. Also better armrests.
The embody could be the best chair for me if i could adjust more stuff especially the lumbar part.

I have owned one for eight years looks almost new. I had a lot of replacement arms (button issue) but they provided new ones and fitted them at home.
They are now giving me a new chair after eight years because of the arm button issue which is immense. Worth every single penny. It was purchased to help cure my severe sciatica and that's exactly what it did. I have tried every chair on the market in this range never found a better one. You did get a defect I owned 3 of them they don't move the way you experienced. Embody hands down best chair from someone who has tried all competitors in this category never had any comfort issue after the one to two month getting used to its lumber support.

your chair is broke mine doesn't do that, also it was not comfortable at first. but once i found the right adjustment and the more i sat in it the more comfortable it became! it might take a month for you to get use to a proper chair! especially if you come for a bad chair!

You should try the Haworth Zody 2. I've tried many chairs, including the Embody, and the Zody 2 takes the cake.

The thing I hate about this chair is the rounded top. It pushes your shoulders forward and only way to "fix" this issue is to loosen the front knob all the way and recline back

Thanks for the non-hype vid! Currently choosing between this and the Haworth Fern. After trying out the Fern at a local dealer I’m definitely leaning towards it.

I’ve tried lots of chairs and the Fern to me is what I’ve settled on

Is the refund free or do you need to cover £49 for the shipment back?

What is the best chair for someone who works and games in the same setup? Also you recommend any good ergonomic desks ? I liked and subscribed as well.
