International Plumbing Code Chapter 7 is all about sanitary drainage systems. This video presentation covers IPC sections 701 to 704, which gives specific information about where drainage systems are required. These sections also detail the types of pipe that can be used of building sewers, building drains, and drainage and vent piping above ground.

Perhaps most important is the discussion in 704 where we learn about the requirements for sloping pipe, and the particular slopes that are required depending on the size of the pipe.

This video is based on the 2021 International Plumbing Code, so chapter 7 might look a little different than previous or later versions of the code. Generally, the code requirements do not change much from one edition to the next.

Man i could sure use your help for my prep... I've been plumbing a long time but I grew up old school plumbing as a kid and now I'm trying to relearn things properly and for the test... I'm 45 and now that I'm trying to learn code for the test, I realized ... how long have I've been doing some of this stuff incorrectly. Even if it's not major it can still be incorrect, and that's what i want to button up
