I'm no doctor but if it was swollen glands, wouldn't it be his neck? If the side of the face is swelled wouldn't the more likely cause be something like an abscessed tooth or maybe getting hit by a puck. The sports writers that come up with spot diagnosis of medical problems off the cuff like that aren't the brightest bulbs in the room to begin with.
