There really has been a lot of confusion around UX design and its future. Glad you broke this down!

I had interviews with maybe 20 different companies in 2021 and 2022 and I got to the final interview in maybe half of them. Only a few I didn't get past the first interview. In 2023 and 2024, I only had like 2 interviews and then they just stopped. I'm in Canada so I don't know whats going on, but I still have no job in UX in 2025

UI design perspective: after Figma became industry standard, many companies wanted elaborate design systems. This brought designers good and long-term projects.

The industry is now saturated with 1000s of the same design systems. Once built, companies don't need a second one (except multibrand companies). UI designers have cannibalized themselves. Design systems create more productivity but not more tasks. However, it is hardly fun to design with design systems. To work on design systems is fun. In the end it kills creativity and out of the box thinking, often even complicates the design process

Demand and supply is usually a 5 year curve that comes and goes. Don’t overthink it. Our role changes bit by bit but doesn’t disappear that quickly.

Increase your skill set, that's how you survive. I am trying to learn full-stack web dev + dev ops + mobile dev + Figma & Rive, and maybe more in the future.

Worth it if you love solving problems, tools, processes comes and goes.

i think during the boom period, many people got into design as glorified figma experts. now the market is correcting itself and AI is a part of that.

Framer! Hey mate, do you have any plans on releasing an in-depth Framer course in the near future?

Your assessment of the benefits of DT on the US economy has not aged so well :D

From focusing on applications and doing Ui/Ux Design, if really shifted towards Web Design. I noticed that there’s many people who want websites, so I decided to do freelance web / UX design.

Thanks for the insight. Could you further elaborate on what exactly is meant by "smart" and "forward-thinking" for a UX/UI Designer in 2025?

This video is inspiring, I wish I could smash the like button more than once. I've interviewed at several places in the last year for UX/ UI roles (I have 5 years of professional experience) and the role now seems to be heavily focused on soft UX skills only (research, running discovery workshops, etc. Almost more of a project manager role than any kind of design) and the hiring teams didn't seem to give a hoot about my hybrid technical and design skillset that I've been honing my entire career- any thoughts on this for others who may be seeing the same things?

So the best application to dwelve into as a beginner in UI/UX Design is "Framer" but a good adaptation in Figma

Idk if you know anything about business. Deregulation of the tech sector, especially during a huge AI boom that the trump admin doesn’t understand is NOT going to create more jobs.

People often misunderstand the responsibilities of different roles due to limited knowledge? That’s a common challenge, especially in UX and service design, where roles like UX Designer, Service Designer, and Product Designer often overlap.

Hello Mizko. What are things and tools needed to learn and excel as a UX designer in 2025?

a few key things i disagree with or he didn't deal with. With all the hirings during covid, then the layoffs that came after. This has put a lot of designers into the market so many more designers looking for the limited available jobs doesn't make it a good market to find a job in.

With AI ths will reduce the number of design jobs available further thus more designers looking for even less jobs available.

Deregulation has never been about creating more jobs, it's about putting more money in the execs and shareholders pockets and to say the last administration was not business friendly is actually false statement. History has shown us that there are many more jobs created under democrat presidents vs republican presidents
