Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a yellow spice, part of the ginger family

It has been empirically used for centuries in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine in a wide variety of diseases and conditions.
Curcumin is the primary curcuminoid and main active component in turmeric and the compound.
Curcumin may have a number of benefits that may confer neuroprotection
1. Reduced Glutamate excitotoxicity
2. Increased neurotrophin production and neurogenesis
3. Dampened glucocorticoid resistance and improved HPA axis regulation
4. Improved insulin sensitivity
5. Reduced leaky gut
6. Reduced oxidative stress
7. Anti Inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects

Trials have shown benefits in reducing depressive and anxiety symptoms. However more research is needed with regards to the dose needed to treat depression.

There is a new hypothesis for depression as glutamate over activity(Johnson launch new medicine in 2019). Is it available to determine by means of MRI or MRS? Will you please share the glutamate role in the psychological disorders such as rumination or other psychological disorders in the future?🙏🙏🙏

That means turmeric powder is not good enough for getting the effect but cucurmin supplement instead? May I know the supposed quantity of cucurmin daily for reverse of brain damage such as depression or anxiety?

So turmeric alone, gives you only 3% curcumin and the bioavailabity is low... but would taking concentrated curcumin be more effective? Alongside pepperine to promote absorption?

Even though curcumin may be as low as 3% in the turmeric spice, I wonder if there are other phyto-chemicals in the whole spice that enhance the available curcumin?

Me and a family member took some tumeric, and after a day i got a yellow tint in my skin between some of my fingers.. So i stopped- don't wanna turn yellow.. Same happend to my family member.. Guess we are allergic.. Nobody i have seen have talked about this, so it is off the menu.. Sad since i had some hope for this..
