Vilma Santos' emotional eulogy for Mother Lily | ABS-CBN News

Screen icon Vilma Santos was one of several industry stalwarts and artists who paid tribute to film producer Mother Lily Monteverde during the Regal matriarch's wake on Thursday (August 8).

Santos, whose first project with Regal Films goes as far back as 1979 via "Pinay American Style," recalled not just their collaborations over the years, but their personal relationship that extends to their respective families.

The same scenario in Our family, almost 5 years ago. Our mom passed away, and on the day of her funeral our father passed away too, exactly 1 week apart. They were true to their vows till death do their part. ❤️🙏Rip to mother lily and husband

OMG!!! I felt so sad to watch this video that mother Lily passed away already . I met her at Xiamen Airport many years ago . She was so friendly and I never forget I asked her if she can speak Chinese. Yes, indeed. She talked to me in Chinese and she said she is a CHINESE. She never hesitated to take a picture with me and my son. I asked her if she was traveling alone? Yes, she was alone. Couldn’t imagine she do not have chaperone traveling with her . Its really a memorable picture taken with her . Rest in peace Mother Lily. Thank you so much for being so accommodating with me and my son. I am here in US already and you will be in my prayers. Love you Mother Lily. 😢

I so very MUCH like her eulogy Kay Mother Lily-- kinda like what I saw in my dreams (except that it was black n white na parang pantomine na walang audio sa panaginip ko) OMGEE parang DEJAVU lang to, to me seeing this para talaga yung sa panaginip ko na ngayon may actual audio....I like it nung tumayo at nagsalita na yung ibang celebs na natulungan ni Mother Lily in her wake halos walang pinagkaiba sa panaginip ko-- the white orchids, white roses, n the big cross na gawa sa bulaklak...."Man, oh man talagang may quorum na sila ni Kuya Germs at ibang mga sikat na celebs na pumanaw na.... talagang nauuna ang mga mababait sunduin at sinasabe ni Lord "Times up na....Go home ka na....lets go!!
