On our 2nd time incubating peafowl eggs, only two hatched. Let’s open up the last five eggs & see if there had been any growth. We’re also moving our McMurray Hatchery chicks into the brooder, but we’re doing it differently this time without a heat lamp. And Becky gives a tour of our canned food cellar.

I think knifing the eggs worked better than the drill.

36 chicks for two hens is an awful lot; they probably feel a bit overwhelmed, but undoubtedly grateful as well. They've been brooding for so long, wanting to be mothers, and now their nests overfloweth~

Your life there looks so peaceful. I would like more of such places. Keep up the good work.

That drilling gave me serious anxiety!

I'd love to know what goes on in hens minds in those situations. They're sitting on eggs for 60 days, nothing happens. Suddenly, without even seeing their eggs hatch, they have 36 chicks to take care of haha

It's nice that you are letting the hens raise the chicks but your growth will be slower. The light lets the chicks eat around the clock so they grow faster. We get chick for egg laying almost every year and keep the light on for almost two months. Overkill! I know but husband won't have it any other way. Love your channel!

I used to watch sports and TV. They have both gone political. Thankfully we have so many wonderful homesteading videos these days. You guys keep it up, you are filling a huge void. And no, I am not being political, just the opposite. Thank you for the nice, wholesome, neutral, heart touching entertainment. 😊

Aww, what a heartwarming video. It made me so happy to see that you gave the chicks to the silkies to mother. They really do deserve it after sitting on eggs for so long. It really warms my heart to see them have the chance to be mothers. And those 2 beautiful peachicks, they look like they have grown. Great vlog, really enjoyed it. Much love to all of your family. 😊

I’m just so happy for the 2 pea chicks that hatched 🐣 I adore your channel 🤗 your animals are awesome & your sweet boy is the cutest 🤗 Oh & I love green beans ❤️❤️❤️ seriously I could, and have, eaten only green beans for dinner 😂❤️That’s how much I love them.. I was born in Georgia & have roots in S. Carolina & ALL my Grandparents & Aunts had bountiful vegetable gardens, I love the smell when my sister’s & I would run up & down the rows of vegetables 🌽 🥕🥒 & Okra🤗 picking the green beans & helping my Grandma snap ‘em for dinner !! Best memories of my childhood ❤️ Thank you for sharing & caring 🙏❤️ See y’all next time 👋🏼

nice canning! you'll be really glad for that fresh food in the cold months. A little vinegar in the canner with your water will get rid of those hard water spots on the jars. I have to do that b/c our water is terribly hard.
