they clearly changed the Rosenthal scene and the entire look of the neomorph's head/"face"

It's hard to judge, sometimes practical stuff looks better and sometimes cgi looks better. I guess, practical stuff works better with slow scenes and cgi works better with fast dynamic scenes.

I actually really liked alien convenant its my favourite one after Alien and Aliens the only thing that bothered me was probably the not-chestburster alien

Honestly that xenomorph suit might be the absolute worst suit in the franchise. No wonder it was scraped.

they needed to use human suits on the protomorph not just the white neomorph. The proto looked way too cgi and didn't come off as terrifying at all most of the movie.
