Welcome to Prague the capital city of Czech Republic in Europe. This beautiful ancient city has some much to offer from historical sites and building to of course food which we will be focusing on today. Our goal is to show you how to eat like a local in Prague in addition to things and foods to avoid as they are true tourist traps!

Our day in Prague starts like any other day with breakfast. We decided to head to the Kolacherie to have an authentic Kolache, a very popular breakfast pastry in Czech Republic. With its fluffy dough and fruity filling, it is the perfect way to start the day.

If you are looking for a second breakfast then head to Jizerske Pekarny, an award winning bakery serving some of the best open face sandwich in town.

For a well needed break, we headed to the Prague Old Town Square to see the world famous Prague Astronomical Clock. I did my best in this vlog to explain how it works but it's fairly complicated. Look it up if you can as it is quite impressive.

For our first lunch we went to Havelská Koruna which translates to Czech Kitchen for an authentic Czech meal. I went with the Svíčková na smetaně which was delicious and Tracey went for the koprová omáčka s hovězím which is a dill gravy. You like it or you don't!

The Mincovna Restaurant also known as the old Mint of Prague is a very nice restaurant where prices are a bit higher as well, especially if you do not go with a food item available on the lunch menu. With that being said, their goulash was amazing. This is a great restaurant for a date night in Prague and it is located just by the Old Town Square.

After being told that Café Savoy was out of větrník we had to come back the next morning to try this amazing choux pastry filled with cream and topped with caramel. This restaurant won Best větrník in Prague a few years ago so there is no better place to try the best dessert in Czech Republic.

Finally, our day of exploring and eating around Prague ended up at Pork's one of the most famous restaurant in town which specializes in pork knuckle a very traditional dish in Czechia. This is by far one of the best meal I have ever had in Czech Republic and in my life as a whole! If you can only eat at one restaurant in Prague, make it this one.

13:20 so yeah actually the thing youre looking at is the saint vitus cathedral not the castle, the castle are the buildings "around it" but not the cathedral

Good video, but you made me laugh when you mistook St Vitus Cathedral for the Prague Castle😂. The castle is next door to this Cathedral

next time you should try the dill sauce with potatoes and boiled egg, that's the only right way to eat that

The spots you picked have been suggested by Czechs as well...I haven't heard of Pork but it sounds like a place I may need to visit. I'll be there in early summer and very much looking forward to it! Glad you had a great time

As a Czech, I would probably not go to some hipster bakery with butchered Czenglish name, I would automatically expect high prices there and especially older people are very allergic to these places with butchered Czech using English spelling like "kolacherie" and stuff like that or fully English names. The most hated thing is probably barber shop in these days, I have to explain it again and again to my grandma or dad that it means kadeřnictví for hipsters. 😀
And as a Czech, I would not even eat in this tourist disneyland center at all, but ofcourse there are good places when you know where to go, but I would say that for many native Praguers, visiting historical center is more like punishment, they go there only when they have to.

The funny thing is, you're claiming to show Prague like a local and off the beaten path but cover the most touristic stuff like Öld Town Square, the Clock and so on. There are countless vlogs about stuff like this, you really should have been focused on the not-so-touristic sights, as this would be a really one of a kind Prague vlog.
