One important point missed about parking signs.
If it says RÉSERVÉ, it is reserved for locals, you will not find a machine there. (3:21 in the background)
If there is a symbol of a parking meter, there will be a machine nearby to pay for the parking. (1:04)

we are happy with your videos here on youtube on the 2 pages you have on youtube.
when we travel to Prague we feel at home, the hospitality you have in the city we do not find in Denmark.
when we come to prague we feel at home and happy and relieved.
we love the Czech Republic and the people of the Czech Republic/Prague.
we will come again this summer in August

Mr. Parkit works great. We live in Prague 3, but did it before we got our residential parking permit. There are also some parking garages in the center. There's one right behind where Janek is standing. One close to the National Museum and other places.

0:34 There's actually a station called "Háje" ("groves" in Czech)? That's hilarious, considering "Jdi do háje" (literally, "go to the groves") means "buzz off", "go to hell". Imagine what happens if someone asks for directions and part of the answer is telling them to go to the Háje station (that kind of misunderstanding must have happened at least once) 😂

You should've mentioned that most parking zones in the city center are time-limited to like an hour or two, it simply won't let you buy a longer ticket (or even like consecutive ones). It sucks a lot in general.

Used Mr Parkit near Vysocanska, worked like a charm! Now I search for Pension with included parking on the outskirts

I have pre-booked a space in a parking garage using the Mr.Parkit app, will report back how that works out

Park at Cerny Most and get the metro into the city. Job done.

I’m not taking any chances with the cars there. Public Transport is best.

My wife and I have been to Europe many, many times, including Prague, and have yet to rent a car. We use public transit always, when not walking.

We are visiting Prague in June in our motorhome. Any suggestions for sites we can stay on that are close to the centre?

The locals have different rules, they pay a yearly fee (about $100, -, depends on the Prague district), it is kind of cheep for the Prague residents. Well you can park only in your area, not everywhere in Prague.
There is another yearly pass for Prague non-resident, that is already more expensive, about $500, - per year I think, and again it is only for a particular district. This might be available for everybody, well it takes some time and papier work, so it is not worthy to waste your time if you spend just couple of weeks, eventually only some days, in Prague.
So yes, as Janek is saying, the easiest is to park in the P&R, the cost is reasonable, and just buy the public transportation ticket for a day, that is really cheep and in the end the public transportation is faster and more comfy than a drive in the town. It is very easy to find the public transportation connection on the google maps.
For those who are in a good hotel, the parking will be included anyway.
Have a fun!

P+R are mostly full during working days. There are still not enough P+R places.
A car in Prague is a really bad idea, use public transport

You explained paid days range but not time range of parking zone like 08-20h etc.

I'm late to the party but will be this Sunday in Old Town for a few hours. Can anyone give me an address in Old Town where I could park for free or cheap? It is five of us including three small children, and for that I appreciate all the help.
