Edit: At 22:50 I misspoke and said Medicare instead of Medicaid. Please forgive me for this mistake. Mrs. Beat just told me it was a BIG mistake.

Oh dam, I forgot about Herbert Hoover's dam, the Hoover dam! I would say THAT was his biggest accomplishment while in office.
What else did I get wrong or leave out?

Also, please don't forget my sponsor. Supporting them greatly helps out my channel.

I guess you could argue that William Henry Harrison was relevant FOR dying, because his death allowed the succession of the vice president to become a precedent of American government, something which had never happened before!

Your point about Washington quitting is exactly why I admire him so much. Obviously not a perfect man, and had his sins, but he relinquished power. So many leaders, including in my own country, became tyrants. But he didn't, and chose to step away and let history play out without him. I've always respected that immensely.

You should definitely do a video looking at each president's biggest failures

John Tyler having two living grandsons in the 21st century is quite an impressive accomplishment as well, I might say.

Fun fact: Taft is only person to be U.S. President and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court

as a disabled american, trust me, we dont take the ADA for granted. every time i see a new corner with correctly graded ramps for wheelchair users and detectable warnings (the little bumps) for the visually impaired, im reminded how amazing it is that we have a law that puts our needs first. we obviously still have a long way to go for disabled rights (not paying hundreds when i go to the pharmacy would be nice) but it's impossible to understate how impactful the ADA is for millions of people.

I mean I gotta say Taft is one of my favorite stories since it's the story of an insecure boy with a dream of being on the Supreme Court, and the WHOLE UNIVERSE'S effort to make sure he got every other possible job.

Just discovered you tonight and cannot stop watching . Thank you for being objective and not letting your personal politics run everything like so many of our fellow Americans do

My daddy worked for the veterans affairs in D.C and was very big in politics, & was a history major. When I was little he used to make me study presidents. I had to know all of them in order as well as the vice presidents and First Lady’s, so I loovee your videos soo much. Thank you💙

William Henry Harrison’s greatest contribution to the Presidency has to be the Curse of Tippecanoe. If he was going to die in office, he was certainly not going to be the only one. One of Reagan’s greatest accomplishments was defeating the curse, and Bush and Biden have him to thank for that. Great video Mr. Beat!

John Quincy was way ahead of his time...his ideas were too bold for that era of American history lol. Brilliant with an impressive career!

25:25 there’s almost a generational divide among disabled Americans of pre and post ADA people. Pre-ADA people wouldn’t stand up for accommodations because they could be denied and face repercussions for asking (like getting fired at a job if you asked for accommodations because they didn’t want a disabled person working there). Since the law was passed, we’ve had legal standing, and have gotten more vocal about our needs, instead of suffering silently. It’s an incredible achievement for our community!

Great video! Nixon is an interesting character to me, he had an accomplishment list that presidents today could only dream of, and it was all overshadowed by the terrible things he did, including the war on drugs, the southern strategy, the invasion of Cambodia and his treatment of Vietnam protesters, the collapse of Bretton Woods, interventions in Latin America, and of course Watergate. But in his positive column are the creation of the EPA and OSHA, the clean air and water acts, detente with China and the Soviet Union, and the implementation of the fair housing act under HUD secretary George Romney. Also he gets credit for not trying to undermine Medicare, the accomplishment of his Democratic predecessor, as many small-government conservatives wanted him to do.

I would argue that Carters biggest accomplishment was the Camp David Accords. Paving the way for future peace deals in the Middle East and greater cooperation between nations. Great video as always!

Tyler's biggest accomplishment was establishing that the VP didn't just become acting president but actually became president upon the death of the previous president. It's taken for granted today, but was ambiguous at the time.
