I saw someone else just post this issue too. The locking ring grinds up against the XLR cable. I ordered an extension but what XLR cables are you using in the video, it doesn't look like your XLR cable is grinding the locking ring?

My locking ring grinds up against the Neutrik end of the XLR cable without an extension tube attached, is mine faulty or does that also happen on yours?

Question... when you finish the with the final placement of the microphone at the 4:01 time mark, how do you get the microphone to stay angled up towards you when it's on its side? Whenever I have my mic horizontal (the silver metal, threaded piece), the entire mic rotates.

Just got my Shure mic and the stand in today, while putting it together I went to clip in the cable and sure enough it broke. I didn't even have much pressure on it :( Now I'm looking for a way to replace the clip.

my RODE PSA1+ worked like a dream for the first year but then just out of warranty began to sag holding my rode NT1000 and shock mount. Very disappointing indeed. I think possibly keeping it in the folded position in my studio ( when not in use ) may have stressed the middle spring ? who knows ? Tempted to buy another one and swap it out yearly before the warranty runs out.
I tried the Blue Compass instead, absolute crap product. Any thoughts on what is the best most reliable ?
