When Megan said that they got married three days before the official day, they said that the Archbishop married them privately. The Archbishop cannot marry you without any witnesses. You have to have witnesses at your wedding, otherwise it would be illegal. What they actually had was a blessing as The Archbishop advised when he heard this claim. The protocol in The Royal Family is The Monarch’s child are entitled to Prince and Princess titles. Then Prince Charles children are entitled to prince/princess as he is second in line to the throne. Williams children are entitled to those titles as he is 3rd in line. Harry’s children are not entitled. When Charles becomes King then Archie can then become an Earl. He is not entitled to a Prince title. It’s down to the monarch whether a title is bestowed upon a family member.

Archie was never supposed to have a title. Only the heirs children have the title of prince of princess. The monarch can give the titles as a gift but Is not required too. This was a law established before wwl
