Did you know that Earth got hit by one of the most energetic particles ever detected by human technology? A single cosmic ray, dubbed the Amaterasu Particle, hit with an unprecedented energy level of 224 exa-electron volts in Utah's desert. This mysterious particle, named after the Japanese Sun Goddess, surpasses even our most powerful particle accelerators. Scientists are baffled about its origin, with theories ranging from bent paths to exotic unknown physics. This discovery marks the second most energetic particle ever detected, following the 'Oh My God' particle in 1991.

Some alien millions of light years away aiming a particle cannon at an enemy ship:
"Damn, I missed. Hope that doesn't hit anything else."

New fear unlocked: being 360 no scoped from space by a single particle beam

For a practical analogy of the energy involved, I remember reading once that the omg particle had about the force of a fastball, which is insane if you consider that force is coming from a single particle.

Aliens with a laser pointer: point it at that planet and freak them out a little bit

These particles travel extremely close to the speed of light. The OMG, smaller than an atom by far, carried the energy of a pitched baseball. Good that they don't come in herds!

Guys in physics “we just discovered (oh my god) particle”
Guys in chemistry “we just discovered isoleucine)”

Can't wait to see the "BARRY, WHAT THE FUC-" particle

The so-called "Oh-my-god" particle was so incredibly energetic that it was calculated to have been traveling at percent of the speed of light. Although only the size and weight of a single proton, it had the kinetic energy of a baseball traveling at 63 miles per hour.

Imagine walking out in the desert at night and you get hit in the head by a single particle with the force of a fast ball.

That's a lot of chakra... I mean volts.

Imagine taking a walk in the middle of the desert in your hometown crossing a little plot looking at things in the sand and just getting completely obliterated out of nowhere by a high intensity beam of energy from space

Who's gonna tell her it came from the Mangyeko Sharingan 😂

My vote is stray particle from a space battle that ended eons ago.

For anyone wondering, 224 Eev is roughly equal to 36 J, which is an absolutely insane amount of energy for a single subatomic particle. That's the energy of a 50" flat screen TV falling from a height of 30 cm on your foot, only that that energy is in s single particle, not a TV

Weird, right after this particle was detected, I started seeing a clock counting down in the corner of my vision, and overlaid in any photos I take...
