How to add songs to Spotify? In this tutorial, I show you how to add songs to Spotify that are not on Spotify. This means you can upload any song (including your own songs) to Spotify and listen to them on your computer, iPhone, and Android phone. Adding songs to Spotify is easy. In order to add songs to Spotify, you must have a computer, such as a Mac or Windows PC. Once you have added your music, you can listen to it on any device, but only if you have Spotify premium. This Spotify tutorial works in 2019 and should continue to work in 2020.

Follow the steps below to add songs to Spotify:
1. Open the Spotify app on your desktop computer and login to your Spotify account.
2. Open the Spotify settings by selecting the 3 dots in the top left of the app and then selecting edit and Preferences.
3. Once in the Spotify settings turn on Local Files.
4. To add any folders on your PC containing music select Add a Source then find the folder containing your songs.
5. Now you can view and listen to the songs in Spotify by selecting Local Files in the Spotify sidebar under Your Library.
6. To listen to these songs on your mobile phone such as an Android or iPhone simply add them to a playlist.

WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO FIGURE OUT MAN!!! For some reason, it plays perfectly on my computer, but as soon as I click on my mobile, it says song not downloaded, if you own the song, you can sync it from your computer, WHEN IT SHOWS ITS DOWNLOADED ON MY PHONE. Anyone who cant get it to work, follow the steps in the video and on your iPhone turn on sync desktop local files in the spotify app. AND also go to your privacy settings in your settings and GO to LOCAL NETWORK. Make sure spotify is checked on. This was the issue I was having where my songs would be greyed out on my Iphone

Hi! I did all of this, have premium, added it to the playlist, downloaded the playlist, etc. I can play it from my computer but on my phone, it shows grey and I can't play it. Thoughts?

I was finally able to get it to work. Nothing will appear on your phone when you first make a playlist. Just hit download for the playlist on your PC. Now the songs will be greyed out on your phone. Just hit download for the playlist on your phone and it should make the songs available. Make sure to have “hide unplayable songs” off in your Spotify settings on your phone. It’s under the playback tab

For all the people which their songs appear in grey on their phones and says "waitting to download", you have to turn off either Windows Defender Firewall or your antivirus Firewall. After that it will start to download

Ok so for anyone who still has problems for the songs to show up on your phone, this is what I did.
I moved all my songs to my music folder on my PC to show up on Spotify.
Then I moved the songs from the folder to the playlist I wanted.
This wasn't shown in the video but I think it is necessary; TURN ON DOWNLOAD on your PC first, otherwise the songs will be grayed out on your phone.
After you downloaded it on PC, turn on Download on your phone and it should work.
This is how I got it to work, if it still doesn't solve your issue, sorry I couldn't help.

Writing this May 2021 for Desktop: Go to "Your Library" on the left. Make sure you're under the "Playlists" section. You should now see Local Files
