This video was perfect! I just purchased a new refrigerator yesterday and was told that a plumber would have to come out to do the water line.. having watched this video I am confident that I can do this myself! Thanks so much for making it look easy... Here's hoping it actually it is!!

Saddle valves (the one used to puncture the original copper 1/2" line) are not permitted fittings under both Ontario and Canadian national codes. They fail.

Perfect way to learn, have not seen such clear, crisp but concise to the point videos.Kudos to the team.

@HouseImprovements thanks for the tip, I went back to home depot today and grabbe the 10 ft. length of looks stainless steel line, similar to what you would use to hook the faucet to the water line. Had the nuts built onto each end, all i had to do was drill my holes (for concealing the line) a little bigger than a 1/2 inch bit, and screw them on, worth the $22 i spent, less headache. thanks for the help.

Thank you, very much appreciated. My fiancée threatened to have a Maintenace guy move into our house but after watching your video, I was able to hook the water line and changed her mind.

Great video. I just bought a new refrigderator with an ice maker/water dispenser. After watching this video I was able to do this project in less than 30 minutes. Thank you for posting this video, it really helped me out.

Great video. Clear instructions. Good close up shots you can pause to make sure you're doing it right. Worth the 8 minutes. Cute voice too lol

I was reluctant to install the ice maker part of the refrigerator  but, after watching your video and how you explained the easy steps.  I am going to do this myself instead of getting a plumber.  Great video.

for those who are wondering why ur line doesn't stay on, you need to tighten the nut down just enough so that the piece inside will be crushed. look @4:55 .... my first time installing I didn't know how to keep it on. thx for the informative video.

You make a good point, these kits are pretty cheap but we did the video because most people buy these. I also have a similar video using a braided line as well, thanks for the feed back.

NEVER use these "Saddle Valve" systems. They puncture the pipe and have a high rate of leaking years down the line, then you have to do a repair. Do it right the first time and hook the line up to a shut-off valve (either solder one on or use compression). Only takes a little more time and will save you the future hassles.
