Finally! Nice to see a large company produce helpful tutorials rather than simply pushing their installation services instead. Thank you!

I love how their water heater is in this bright, big, cheery room instead of a basement of cramped darkness and drear.

This is actually a tutorial and not just a promo for Lowes. Good work!

I am a maintenance technician for a large company, with a company credit card with a 20k monthly limit. Things like this are easy when you can buy every thing new. And with these help full videos. I been looking good. lol just recently replaced an electric hot water heater.

Real world application right here, a nice super brightly lit environment with super clean room, brand new installation, literally everything is brand new and up to code. I don't think I saw a single spec of dirt the entire time lol.

Great video. This isn't a job for the novice... but it's a great instructional video. I swapped my old heater because she was 14 years old and there's no reason to wait for the breakdown.... and I installed their 50 gallon AO Smith premier. I needed to change out one of the connection pipes - but the other was in good shape - just needed a new washer. Once she was filled and power turned on - I had plenty of hot water in about an hour. It's so silent... I was concerned it wasn't on. I'm very happy with this unit. Thanks

Home Depot and Lowe's wanted $1, 800 I bought it for $400 installed it myself in 1 hour so they're charging you $1, 400 just for labor what a rip off go on YouTube people you can learn how to do things so easily by yourself if you have a little mechanical skills it is very easy I've done so many projects by YouTube had no problem and save thousands and thousands of dollars

Now I know 100% Google or YouTube listens in on my conversations. I have suspected it for quite sometime. I will be replacing my old hot water heater this week and have been discussing it with my buddy and here we go on my suggested videos to watch. How to install an electric hot water heater. I am ready to go without a cell phone

Where is the real install when the home owner decided to box the heater in a wooden dungeon filled with spiders and roaches

Was wondering 2 of sinks wasn’t working after installing water heater. After watching many other videos with no luck and watched this one and turns out I just had to remove the aviator to clean it out! Thanks! 🙏🏽

What happens when the bucket under the TPR valve fills up. The drain should extend outside according to code or to a floor drain. If the TPR valve releases under pressure the bucket is going to overflow pretty quick.

OK an expansion tank is only necessary if you don't have a pressure tank! Aka if you have city water

Relief valve discharge pipe has to be within 6 in of the floor not the bucket

Regarding the hoses, if they just go straight up to connect to the above cross pipes, then what you have is a convection flow of hot water up the hose, along one edge, and a downward flow of room temp or cool water back into the tank.
I always buy a hose that is double the length shown, in the video, and I make a loop or S bend in the hose. Why?
Think of a lake or swimming pool. Warm water rises, and cold water sinks. By creating that S loop or full circle loop, the hot water from the tank rises to the top of the S peak, but will not propagate down. The S loop is effective to stop convection currents and to not use the hot water tank exhaust connection from heating the house. The extra length hose cost is recovered in the first year from installation.

I hate how my work is better than all the work that has been done in my house and I'm just a handy homeowner
