How Do Bug Sprays (Like Raid and Baygon) Kill Cockroaches?

Contrary to popular belief, cockroaches cannot survive a nuclear explosion; however, it is true that cockroaches are more tolerant of certain ionizing radiation than humans. Even so, they cannot survive bug spray, as it consists of powerful neurotoxic substances.

Bug sprays or insecticides are chemical compounds that inhibit certain physiological functions. Many classes of insecticides differ in their synthesis, how they affect the pest, and whether they indiscriminately affect all insects or are specific to a particular type or family.

Insecticides can be lethal in various ways: some insecticides act as neurotoxins, impairing the nervous system, others target respiration and prevent the insect from utilizing oxygen, while others target the insect’s growth and reproduction.

Informative video, but I think you guys are incorrect about the nuke thing. Roaches were found, in perfect health, close to where the atomic bombs were dropped. Some also have been recorded to be completely unfazed by radiation levels past 5k rads. I'm sure they couldn't handle a direct hit (I mean, what could?), but being near fallout has already proven to not really bother a majority of them.

Just remembered when I was kid when my uncle slaughtered a chicken that just ate a cockroach we sprayed with bug spray.
I told them not to eat the chicken but they say it was harmless.
Anyway, it has been 40yrs already, and my uncle passed away 36yrs, after eating the chicken that ate the roach with bug spray.
I guess the effect took that long to kill my dear uncle😔

I thought they could survive thousands of times rads ☢️ than humans could, hence the nuclear explosion myth. They obviously couldn’t survive a fireball but the remaining radioactivity ☢️ they could

I have a Baygon directly sprayed on a giant house spider size of my hand, it says it contains pyrethroid.
You think it's dead not just asleep?
