Makeup's harshest critic is daylight. That's why for everyday use, you should always have a magnified mirror with daylight.

Contouring gets really obvious in person and in broad daylight though.

the filter being so blurry makes it work but in regular light, just looks like dark smudge on your face

I don’t think people realize that it looks better on camera than it does in person-

Nah we can always tell. This contouring works on selfies but when you’re being photographed and filmed from different angles in different lighting contouring shows.

The filter she’s using is so blurred the sides of her nose literally disappear into the rest of her skin

Kudos to her for contouring and blending well to give an idea of how it changes the face significantly. Some people are out here rocking a nose 10 shades darker than they are. 😂

I always tell people to go to the window and look in the mirror before they leave. What looks good in soft light doesn't always look natural in daylight.

For instance, geisha. Geisha look so stark white these days, but the reason that they started doing the face paint is that they were entertaining at night under candlelight and lantern. Very dim.

In order to stand out and look as beautiful as possible, they started doing the makeup, because it was so flattering in the dim light. Now it looks like a mask because of the bright light, but it's so culturally relevant and important they continue doing it.

She NEEDS to take the skin blurring filter off so we can see how it would look like on actual skin 💀

I was quite lucky growing up that I had a family member who was a beautician, & she’d travel to London to do stage make up (both for TV & for theatre). Contouring started out as exactly that.. stage make up, heavy make up to portray certain looks etc. This was the 90’s when make up consisted of concealer, powder, eyeshadow, mascara, & a bit of eyeliner lol. This can absolutely be done correctly (aiming that towards people saying it can’t !) - but it takes practice, patience, & correct shading to get it right.

"Sometimes it's makeup, not plastic surgery!"
The point is that the appearance is fake. 🍷🗿

you know a doctor is professional if he informs you of cheaper alteratives instead of profiting from your issues.

I'm okay with having a wide nose. Not interested in trying to be something I'm not. Melanated and proud

This is why I don't think Taylor Swift had a nose job. When you see pictures of her with natural makeup, her bridge doesn't look thinner than it used to. It's only when she has a full glam look that it does.
Her upper eyelids on the other hand, definitely had surgery there. Makeup can't change hooded eyes to unhooded. But that's okay. It's not shameful to do and if it's made her happier than I think it's wonderful. I'm just glad she hasn't strayed too far away from what she naturally looks like.
I love her so so much btw. I'm a huge swiftie and have been for 16 years. This isn't hate and if you think it is, you clearly think it's wrong for people to get cosmetic surgery which shows the kind of person you are.
