Can't believe 4 years has already passed...Holding in my hands old but still amazing GTX 680 MSI, changing to 1080 MSI X tomorrow.

I love the sound of 4 displays off 1 card. I work from home and run 4 monitors. The means I have to spit my GPU upgrade budget between 2 medium end cards. I LOVE the idea of being able to purchase 1 high end card and still run 4 displays.

As soon as non reference cards are out my current cards are going up for sale.

I'm looking forward to making the upgrade.

For those interested in supplemental randomness, I have 2 680 GTX Classifieds in SLI and their performance on Crysis 3, with everything on max, is only about 25-35 fps when the draw distance opens up. In order to get a comfortable 60fps minimum I had to reduce all settings to 'High" and turn off anti aliasing. It still looks amazing and the cards are very powerful, but Crysis 3 is pushing the envelop for the next Gen. of visuals. That, and software developers need more time to optimize.

The program at 1:30 is the Apex Destrucion module. Screw Battlefield 3, smashing blocks looks so satisfying.

Next week I will be upgrading from i7-2600k/GTX 680 2GB to a Ryzen 3600/RTX 2060 Super 8GB. Super pumped!!!

Dice GM Karl-Magnus Troedsson admitted they switched focus to consoles as lead systems mid-production in order to meet the release date.

Go to newegg, open each brands 680 (dont just sit at the list view of the 680s). Wait till midnight PDT, refresh every 5 minutes until 3am. You'll usually find 3 or so brands per night this way. They only stay available for around 5 minutes, but it's how I got mine. The evga went up at like 12:05, and sold out by 12:08.

Yup, but for a weird reason - I found out that for some odd reason CPU PhysX runs on x87 registers instead of x86.

Bought the GTX 580 in November and was happy with it. I have to say the 680 is a temptation, but I ill wait till the 700 series first.

You didnt hear about the MSI cards did you? The made a line of 660s, not even 660tis, that weren't voltage locked, and could handle an overlock to be on-par or faster than a 670-680. All of their cards (AMD and nVidia) charge about the same for the tiers of cards. The 7990s(future-rumored) and the 690s both cost $1000, the 7970s and the 680s both cost 450-650, and so on and so forth. The 7870 costs the same as a 660/ti, also, OCing does not mean voltage tweaking.

Yes. It contains dual NVIDIA GK104 GPUs on a single card. Similar to how the HD4870X2 had two HD4870 cores on it.
