I am currently in the process of adjusting my status from a student visa. However, I only have the entry stamp in my passport, and I no longer have a copy of my I-94 form. Would not having the I-94 form affect my application?

My wife got interviewed by the local SSA office here in moreno valley, ca. and the lady who interviewed her won't accept the date of stamp in her passport as proof of legal entry here in US and was looking for I-94. But my wife entered with FX1 visa. Is I-94 required for an immigrant?

My husband lived in mexicali he entered with a tourist visa to the US & never went back to mexico.
He didnt have a i94 and looking at his passport it wasnt stamped.
Hes trying to adjust his status.
What can he do.
