So, my wife and I are HUGE fans of yours. My wife loves how clear your camera is when you're in downtown Chicago, and she's mesmerized by the sheer size of the city, and how busy it is. Bradford mentions is one of his recent videos how downtown is like a maze.
One of our goals is to stay in Chicago for a few days, and see millennium park and the giant bean.
Anyway, we appreciate you, and look forward to seeing your FSD drive downtown.

Wow, i just did that roundo myself today. I have to say that only 40 percent of people know how to drive correctly through the roundo. Im so glad you are local to me. Makes it even more fun to watch.

Be careful pressing up on the stalk to disengage FSD, if you do make sure its only half click not all the way up or the car will go in reverse if you are 5mph or under.

Thanks for the video Jon! V12 does seem to be able to do u-turns now but the one it did here in your video was a failure notheless. It crossed over a solid yellow into an area you aren't supposed to drive in. I get that you were happy to see it pull off a uturn at all but you can't call that a successful one if it broke traffic rules to do it.

In the roundabouts, the car was not maintaining its lane properly, drove all over the place, swicthed lanes without signaling and didn't signal to exit. You even went over the left side curb on one and called it successful. You can certainly be happy and exited for the progress it is making (i.e. much less hesitant than before) but don't act as if it did them well when it is struggling with the basics.

Great to see. We’ve waited so long. I never thought it would happen.

We love you too Jon! Awesome video as always. It's fascinating to watch the progress. Very well documented. I appreciate your thoughts and analysis.

As a French, the country of roundabout (30 000), i can see that the turns signal is not here yet. And the placement on the roundabout is really important to have smooth navigation (so so smooth in fact). But, I was worried that roundabounds will be a problem for FSD. The ultimate test will be the roundabout of the Arc de triomphe that is a 12 way and an unmarked one :)

5:10 - as a Swede, it is hilarious to hear. That was a super simple roundabout!

Executing complex maneuvers like dual lane roundabouts like a human shooting the traffic gaps is the last major hurdle to solve FSD! The trick is that FSD needs to be able to do this like 100 times in a row, but wow! This is so cool! Can't wait to get this build!

Looking forward to getting FSD here in the UK one day! Great test video, but I wished you'd finished your "someone was angered so much that they..." cliffhanger 😀

And it’s not just the lane selection, it’s also the smoothness. V12 is a big improvement over v11.

Maybe you can answer a question? I have FSD on my 22 MY. Even when I have put a destination in for navigation and enable FSD( little blue wheel highlighted). I have to do most of the turns as I only have 2 blue lines showing on the screen. Some roads do show solid blue single line and it will change lanes etc on its own. Why would this be? I live in Maryland, not exactly the middle of nowhere. Maybe I’m missing something. TIA.

Random question. What are your thoughts on the 2019 or 2020 Model 3 years vs 2022 and beyond. I'm so tempted to get a used one that has FSD if I can find a really good deal. I just am not in the market for a new one. I'd love a new refresh Model 3 or to wait for the Model Y refresh - but feel like I'm missing out on a ton :)

Which FSD setting do you use? Chill, Average or Assertive? V12 is installing iny car as I write this. Very excited to try it out. Roundabouts have been terrible on V11.

Luckily i bought fsd on my 2019 m3sr+ for $6k. I bought a 2023 model YP in August 2023 and transferred that license to the new Model YP with hw4. I do feel it's worth $6k, but $12k is a little expensive for where it's at pre v12. There still a little ways to go before it's ready to sleep in the car while it drives you

Without running through all your videos - as a fellow 2019 model 3 owner, are there things that FSD beta can not do compared to newer cars?

AlexeiWatson

I pay the 199/mo. I use FSD fairly often, but even when I don't I prefer the display when you have FSD vs when you don't. It's worth it to me. Will I every buy it? Not unless I can transfer it across cars.

from the round about down wolf road, there are no lane markers, so version 11 usually stays in the middle and only toward the end does it split near the light.... did you test 12.3 going down that.?

KirinRise

It only signaled in a couple of times (which is kinda obvious) but did not signal out which is the most important.

Can't you just grab the steering wheel and put a moderate amount of torque on it, or tap the break pedal, in order to exit FSD?
