Always Keep Fighting Candle Salute SDCC 2015

At the Supernatural panel during SDCC 2015, fans simultaneously lit electric candles donning the message "Always Keep Fighting" in a salute to the movement's founder, Jared Padalecki. The gesture got the cast to its feet and brought Jared to Tears. They also attached a moving message (the contents of which are shown at the end of the video). It's moments like this that make me proud to be part of the supernatural family.

i watched the panel on youtube, after the fact. you never got to see much of the crowd. but here, you get to see how it looked like and it's just so amazing. Jared's reaction once he read the mean, tears. this fandom is by far the best in this galaxy, seriously. so glad to be part of it.

I know this is/was supposed to be about Jared, but I couldn't help myself from being drawn to Jensen's expression the whole time, even when I first watched this moment on that day or now watching it in slow mo here, while aware of Jared's obvious reaction. I mean...Jensen was totally aware of what's happening even before he asked, "what's going on in here?" but being Jensen, he's always playing coy or clueless or trying to be bland about it and not showing his emotion too much. But from the look of his strained smile and most of the time looking sad and how he tried not to look at Jared but super aware of Jared's reactions and feelings, I really feel for him. Of course Jared already pulled strings at my heart, but watching Jensen trying to hold it really makes me teary. Bless them and Misha and Mark too. :')

Jared is so on display with his emotions and we can read his thoughts right away!
Jensen is like: keep your cool, be strong. This is so heartwarming, but keep your cool!!!
While Misha just drinks water to not get emotional.

I started to realize while watching this that we always need to support those with depression and not keep them in the dark until it is too late. So I think whenever I see this video I will think of my best friend who has depression because she introduced me to Supernatural.

i’m watching this after this horrible long week i’ve had with the news about jared and i’m crying. he is such a beautiful human being and doesn’t deserve all the hate he’s getting, the media is making him out to be a bad person when he’s one of the best out there.

I needed to see this today. I struggle with mild depression & and anxiety and my girlfriend has it to. I’ve been reading misha’s book things I still can’t tell you and it’s been really helpful on the days where I don’t know how to help myself let alone her. It’s empowering for me to hear Jared speak out boldly about seeking help when you need it.

I was fighting cancer when I was 19, I'd had to leave my job, couldn't look after my kids, was bed ridden, it was awful. I was in a really dark place. I'd had depression for years but being physically sick took too much of my energy. I was used to using all of my energy to keep me alive but in a much different way. I went to a bad place but I decided to go back and watch supernatural again in 2015, the year of this panel and the year I spent fighting the illness and I fell madly in love with the show, the actors, the fandom, all of it. Sounds weird to non supernatural freaks like myself but I formed a veyy deep attachment and connection to supernatural while I was sick and I'm actually brokenhearted that it has to end but it is time and the fandom will live on..
Anyway now I'm done babbligg I just wanted to say thank you to Jared padelecki for his help in bringing such a shitty thing som of us have to live with into the light. Thank you Jared. Thank you misha, thank you Jensen, thank you all so much. You guys helped get me through. Me and I'm certain thousands of others. I'll keep fighting Jared, you keep fighting too 💜
