Daniella Toscanini says her career as a hairstylist came “by accident.”
As an art student, she needed a job. "I figured I was “either going to be a cop or hairstylist.”
A naturally-talented artist since she was a young girl, she decided to try her hand at the more creative of the two careers.
“I always continued to do my art, but I also developed a passion for hair,” said Toscanini, who has been a hairstylist since 1994.
After years of working in different salons, she opened Toscanini Hair earlier this year in Port Richmond’s Sola Salons, which is a franchise that includes 29 individual studios.
“I like being one-on-one with clients, and having my own, separate space,” she said.
“I love being creative. ... I enjoy making people happy. When you see a client walk out happy, it gives you a good feeling,” added Toscanini.
