Here we explain the Minuet and Trio movement of a classical symphony, by composing one after the style of Joseph Haydn. If you're interested in music composition, music theory, orchestration, or just like classical music, you may like this tutorial. You'll see and hear the piece grow from a simple continuity sketch to a full orchestra including flutes, oboes, bassoons, horns, trumpets, drums, violins, violas, cellos, and double bases. Enjoy!

You are seriously the best Michael. I can’t thank you enough for keeping with this series and explaining with such depth.

Thank you so much! This video was easy to understand, yet went into so much detail.

Amazing video! Truly helped me unexplainably much in composing my first Minuet. May I ask what soundfont you're using?

Do you have any videos with more details on writing the counterpoint for this?

i mean probably would be helpful if you didnt just skip to the end result. kind of defeats the point of a tutorial if you dont explain how you did it.
