Google Nest Hub Review | 2nd Gen (2021) | It watches you sleep...

Reviewing the Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen smart speaker/display, fresh for 2021, with a new Sleep Sensing feature. This 7-inch smart home hub boasts Google Assistant voice controls and can stream media from the likes of Netflix and Disney Plus. Here's an unboxing and setup of the Nest Hub 2021 as well as my verdict on how it stacks up.

You've got a basic compact screen for watching video, or interacting with this smart speaker. I like those UI tweaks, including the Evening Mode which suits the bedroom environment. And then there's Sleep Sensing, which uses SOLI radar tech like the Pixel 4 to detect motion during the night. The Google Nest Hub 2nd Generation will then rate your sleep and even tell you if you snored. Charming.

These devices are nice but only problem with this is the resolution of the display. I have the older model but it's not worh it to actively watch a video but watching a stream in a background this is awesome. Would like to buy the max version if the resolution would be at least 1080p. Would make my current tablet setup useless and just work.

After using sleep sensing for a while, now I actually know how many times I fart during the night, when my AC cuts on and off, and how many times my dog barks in his sleep as Google records that as snoring. I also know how many times I hit the snooze button as Google translates that into coughing.

Got one to try it and the next day I ordered another one for my kitchen.
Use the clock, timer, radio, stream TV to it and so on, does all it prommis and it costs like my old radio/clock.

Hi, I'm very tempted to get one of these as a bedside clock but was wondering can you have it so the screen is off when not needed and maybe activate it preferable with your voice when you say need the time etc? I think it sounds very wasteful having it sat there on all day when I'm at work or out the house in general. Otherwise it's perfect for what I want.

I recently got the google nest hub and I wish when you went into lights it would indicate which lights are on it does if you go into rooms but would be nice to just go into lights and have the light icon yellow on the first screen of home controls

My question is as follows. Is it possible to use the device as a standalone photo frame without connecting to a phone or tablet, without a wi-fi connection, but simply by uploading photos to the built-in memory?

The AEC has nothing to do with the mics. Music it plays is cancelled by AEC how the mics work with 3rd party noise is another matter
