I like how you connected the end of the clip with the beginning. Smart move

Just got a pair of these in December. Neutral is the best way to describe them as they replicate what you actually hear and do not sound enhanced. Comfortable as well.

In terms of flat I would say senheiser hd600 comes the closest. mdr7506 has a weird big 200hz dip and boosted pinna gain

I have these. They’re not flat. Upper mids too forward. But they’re good at their price.

I heard from one review that DT770 Pros are even "flatter".
In a good way too cause they do not boost higher frequencies that much so it’s easier to sit in them for longer periods of time than the MDR7506 that are boosting the highs and it might hurt your ears

I think the Shure SRH1540s are the flattest headphones I’ve heard sub $1000. I swear by them. I could see people thinking they sound boring but to me they are the best closed backs for mixing I’ve found. Also some people perceive a slight bass emphasis but I hear it as flat compared to my monitors. Something like the Sennheiser HD 650 actually sounds rolled off in the lows to me.

Thanks for this, I got a pair as they're so well priced and now I know I can mix OK on them, well maybe I can! ;D

If I need a headphone to test the mids I'll go for the best in the game, the og mids monster, the hd600

WHAT ?? flat? neutral, honest? Please don't post such nonesense. If you want flat try Ollo S4X or even Sony CD9000ST...to some degree. If you want to hear details through their excessive treble then MAYBE . . . for a newbee. End of the day though you can use ANY headphone IF you have the years of experience and ears to use them accurately. Anyway these are NOT the flattest most neutral by ANY degree

What do you think of the tascam th-200x for mixing?

The Tascam TH200X are very flat and inexpensive. Bass is a little heavy but you can make adjustments for that in the mix.

So my issue I’ll have is all be recording then mixing with my £50 headphones on and it all sounds perfect then I play it through my genlec speakers and it sounds bad

They're great for tracking but definitely not for mixing. Too much bass and the highs are painful, like DT990 levels.

Neutral? They are super hyped on the top end. Look at the graphs!
